I was well received by receptionist, if I have to rate her it will be 5 stars , very warm friendly and easy to talk to personally , however the elevators was not working since my wife is disabled and our room was on the 1st floor,but the receptionist saved the day, I've been recommended by a friend to stay here and I will definitely recommend the holiday inn to my other friends . I will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Dumfries. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Room very clean and very comfy. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Dogs allowed.

Lovely hotel.
Great staff who make you feel very welcome. Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. As it’s a bit out of the way, dining options are limited unless you want to drive or eat in the hotel.

Bar closed, 2 days before Xmas !
Hotel not wow but comfortable, lounge bar, 2 days before Xmas closed so had to venture out for a drink which i thought they were totally missing a trick.

Enjoyed the grounds, easy parking, beautiful walking areas. The room was clean, however, the building is showing its age and could use some upkeep. The bed was not comfortable for us, but that is subjective to individual preference. Every day, we had to go get our room key reprogrammed - slight annoyance but no big deal. The restaurant was ok. Food was delicious but service really lacked; understaffed in the afternoon and evening. The waitress was a sweetheart, and very sincerely apologized. Overall we would recommend the hotel for ease of travel and a beautiful location.

Good, clean hotel but not perfect
The room was showing a couple signs of wear but spacious and the bed was comfy and clean, bathroom was well equipped (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) and spotless. Plenty of water pressure in the shower for my wife to wash her hair. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choices. Communal spaces could do with a new carpet or lick of paint but still good, just not excellent. Parking spaces were full but asked at reception and you can park anywhere on the estate without issue so actually, a lot of parking. Neighbouring cathedral is very pretty and worth a walk around to view.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, set in beautiful grounds. Bedroom was lovely and clean , big comfy bed with nice pillows . All the staff were really lovely and pleasent. Breakfast very good . The only two negative things were the poor lighting above the mirror in the bedroom and lack of availability on the evening menu .

Comfy & Clean Room - pleasant stay
Lovely stay, the perfect accommodation for a wedding at The Crichton. A short taxi into Dumfries town centre, or could also walk it along footpaths.

Set on beautiful green grounds, the Holiday Inn Dumfries is a must stay in Dumfries. Sadly we only had one night. Close to town, you could just hang out at the hotel itself and be content. Breakfast was plentiful and worth adding to the booking. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Bar and restaurant on site, but its the beautiful grounds that had me, with the old Crichton Memorial Church to walk around, the beautiful Crichton gardens to wander through. Close to Robert Burns house. Highly recommended.

Room was more than incredibly hot .. 2 x air conditioning units in room as staff knew there was a problem but they still put us in that room .. only after threatening to sleep in reception did they agree to move us .. not a good emptession & definitely not expected … !

Can i firstly apologize for the condition you found the room to be in, we strive to make sure everyone enjoys their stay with us. I am sure you will agree that we have experienced weather that we don't usually find in this country and not just ours but many hotels have found the Air Condition just can't cope with the heat. We will also work with staff members so we can provide the needs to give guests the best stay we can

Wonderful Stay
Great spot, 15 minute walk from the town but pleasant enough. Rooms are a great size, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic. I'd definitely stay again if I was going to Dumfries.

Bel endroit tranquille
Bel hôtel, bien situé. Il a fait soit très chaud, soit très froid, surtout dans notre chambre. Les repas sont trop chers pour ce qu’ils sont. Ça prendrait des couvertures de surplus dans la chambre.

Nice hotel!
Nice hotel and great staff. The only thing I could critique is the air did not work well in my room and the phone also wasn’t working to call down for a fan. Otherwise, it was very nice.
