The room was superbly appointed for a short stay and the location of the property was perfect for exploring the old town. Very friendly hosts and great recommendations.
Great place to stay right in the old city! You can swim right there. Very clean and well cared for. The folks at Kava were great too. They scheduled my ride to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This is a wonderful little hotel with large rooms that have a small closet kitchen. Given all the stairs in Dubrovnik, this location is pretty accessible. The manager was a great help in suggesting places to eat and arranging transportation. We really enjoyed ourselves.
I didn't know quite what to expect with so many pictures, but it made sense once we arrived and got a tour of the house (it made more sense when I thought of it as a house rather than as a hotel). It felt like staying at a little palace, absolutely heavenly.
Jon was very attentive. Lots of recommendations when we booked and dined at two of his suggestions. Both excellent. Room is comfortable, area is quiet but only a few mins walked to the center of old city.
Excellent location right inside the old city. Easy walk to nearby attractions, restaurants, bars and more.
Check-in happens at a coffee shop outside Ploce Gate, so be prepared to walk 8 mins to the hotel. Fairly easy walk, but cobbled streets.
Inside, the property, rooms and decorations are immaculate and beautiful. No elevator, so a fair bit of stair climbing.
Minor point: safe wasn't functioning in my room due to previous guests leaving it locked.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. John provided us a lot of good info while he walked us to the room.
Overall, highly recommended.
What a fabulous spot - inside the historic city walls! As a solo traveler, Jon was such a fantastic host. He loves Dubrovnik and is such a great ambassador for the city supporting local restaurants and artists. Staying inside the historic walls is amazing and busy. The Byron was perfectly located to get up early and explore the city, while many are still asleep. My room was an oasis after a day of sight seeing and beautifully appointed and clean. Jon also showed me a secret water spot that was great at sunset. It is also easy to take a water ferry to explore day trips like Lokrum Island. I give them an A+ for customer service - Jon's son even helped me with my bag when I was departing.
This is absolutely a hidden gem in Dubrovnik. Tucked just a few steps away from all the attractions in the Old City, it felt like an oasis of calm and luxury. The Byron is immaculately maintained and sparkling clean. Everything about is spoke of care and great attention to detail. The owner made our arrival extremely smooth and gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants and a museum we weren’t even aware of that we loved.
I will highly recommend this to any friends traveling to Dubrovnik and will stay here again upon future visits. A 10 out of 10!
A little different from a hotel in that the Byron is a set of rooms in an old building without a front desk or any on-site staff. That might not be for everyone, but if you are ok with that you will almost certainly love this place. Very charmingly and uniquely decorated. Quiet rooms despite good location in the old city. Great owners. Highly recommend.
1) Highly recommend booking Dani as transport from Dubrovnik Airpot for 40 Euro; He's a very cool & informative guy 2) Jon & Sanja were outstanding hosts, we tried all of their recommendations, all were superb. Also, they allowed us to store our bags @ KAWA as we had a late departing flight. Fun Fact: Jon was an extra in King Jeoffries Wedding!
The Byron is a great property located within the walls. Literally steps to everything from Cliff side bars, 5 star restaurants, Walk of Shame GOT Steps and local markets for misc. items like water, wine, gifts, etc. Our suite had a fold out kitchenette that was practial and a perfect use of space. Also, a very nice view of the Cathedral.
The kitchen was full equipped, room was clean and ample, and property itself was charming and in right inside the Old City, easy access to all major tourist points. Well maintained property, would absolutely stay here again. The owner Jon was easy to work with and incredibly attentive and responsive. (Only thing to note for travelers is that since this unique property is within the Old City, several stairs are involved in order to access).
