「Very nice home and property. Great value. Seems like an excellent location for visiting Aberdeen. Hosts were great. Parking was easy (and free). Only one minor issue. Our room was in the front of the house which is on a very busy street. So with our window open (it was unseasonably warm during our trip) there was quite a bit of traffic noise.」

「I booked the room for my colleague, she said, "the hotel is dodgy, quite dirty and a hostel with interesting characters, smells of weed and generally no safety… the breakfast was really bad and I was the only one there… it seems like it’s not a hotel that is actually used for tourism/business." She felt so unsafe that she left after the first night. I am writing to request a refund. Please advise.」

「The hotel is cheap and you get exactly what you pay for. Don't book if you are expecting room service and everything to be perfect. Some rooms have faulty lights. Some have glasses and some don't. It's not perfection but I defy you to show me better in Aberdeen for £29 - £34 a night! A few ideas for the hotel chain. Increase your price by £5 and scrap the annoying parking charge? Open up the bar for crying out loud! You will make more money and please more guests! Try to be a bit more consistent...

「The Mercure is an older and I suspect much grander hotel at one time. It has a sense of opulence about it with wide staircases, high ceilings and stained glass windows, however there are also signs of aging, i.e. worn carpets, old windows. I think it adds to the charm. The breakfast staff were very attentive and pleasant. Breakfast was typical fare, with adequate choices available. My room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. My only complaint was noise made by the fire door slamming...
