Traveling with two large dogs and a parrot, we found ourselves needing an unexpected stop in Dilley. The Hotel Dilley Grand turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The hosts were genuinely welcoming and made our whole crew feel right at home.
The historic building has been recently renovated. Our room was well-equipped, and the bed was comfortable with quality linens. We also appreciated the shared kitchen and dining area, available 24/7, stocked with basic provisions and a Keurig.
The location is quiet overall, except for the occasional train. Having a large dollar store across the street is convenient.
This isn’t a luxury hotel, but it's clean and comfortable, with warm hospitality and some historical charm. For the price, it’s an easy five stars.
It was a great stay the rooms where very clean had no problems i even stayed an extra day , the service was excellent very nice and respectful i would definitely stay here again the next time im down in Dilley tx
Lobby had a bad odor, there was mold above the light switches. Dead bug in our room.
Instructions were that no one was at the desk , you waited on a code until 3:00pm. But we never got it, come to find out there was some one here. We had been waiting for a hour to check in. The second was maybe a foot away from the wall and door to the bathroom. Towels were clean and linens were clean. Hard back chairs in the sitting room. Might be perfect for workers but not for lounging guest . Large bottles of body wash and shampoo , already opened. Sample size toothpaste open , not sealed.
Definitely this was an experience like no other. This was a one night stay on a road trip. Made the reservation few minutes before we got there. Everything looked good, got the confirmation, rooms # and a access code for our rooms (first unusual thing-no key to enter), we get there, walk in...lobby is empty (normal in small towns at midnight), get to our rooms, enter access code, open the door and....THERE'S PEOPLE SLEEPING THERE on both rooms!! We called to the hotel's phone number, a lady answer, she apologize for the "inconvenience", tells us to go to a 2 other rooms, we entered the codes, open the door and...THERE' PEOPLE SLEEPING there too on both rooms!! The lady on the phone apologizes again, we all are in disbelief of what's happening, she gave us another 2 rooms and finally those were empty. To be fair, the rooms were nice, very comfortable beds and clean but there's no door latches (that's why we could enter the other rooms like nothing) and this is a BIG NO-NO, I hope they fix this issue, also...it was supposed to include "continental breakfast" but there was not staff to be found all night or in the morning, so no prepared food at all, only food available in the dining area were a couple oranges, some sandwich bread, a toaster and a coffee maker. I understand Hotel is in a very small town but still, they need to do better. Thank God the people sleeping in "our" assigned rooms were not armed or violent when we entered. I can laugh now but it was scary and weird.
Stayed for ten days and only got room service once. Breakfast was lacking. Only cereals and had to ask for waffle mix to make waffles. Staff was nice but definitely expected more as a guest. Rooms were a little dirty when first checked in. Lady up front was nice and tried all she can.
This hotel knowingly double-charged both me and my family member for the same reservation and then extended the stay without permission, charging us for nights we never booked.
At this point, they are fully aware of what happened and are refusing to make it right. It feels like they’re just stealing our money, and they are avoiding all responsibility. No one will return calls, and we’re being completely ignored.
I’ve never experienced such blatant dishonesty and terrible customer service. Avoid this hotel! They will take your money and then refuse to fix their mistakes.
The hotel itself is small, very limited parking close to the main entrance, the other side to parking is sketchy. The rooms are small, hardly any space to move around. The AC is literally next to one of the beds so you have all the air blowing on that side, the other bed is right next to the restroom, you can literally get out of bed and get into the restroom. The toilet is very noisy after flushing. We also found trash on the floors and crumbs in the drawers. You get what you pay for, I’m not sure about recommending this place. One more thing, don’t use the coffee maker, it was dirty and we saw bugs inside of it, if you’re into PB&J sandwiches for breakfast than your in luck because that all you’re going to find on the counter, 1 bag of bread, a jar of jelly and one of peanut butter, that is it, no one at the front desk to help out either.
I was told upon booking that I would receive my room number and code at 3 PM the day of my booking. it discloses that there are no front desk staff that the check-in process is electronic. I did not receive the room number or code at all during the day. When I arrive to this establishment at 9 PM at night, I had to call multiple numbers to get my door code and room number. entering the building, there are Multiple loud guests. The lobby is unkept and very messy. The hallways are filthy. Upon entry of my room number there is another individual sleeping in the bed. Immediately call the number of the staff member at this establishment and they tell me that somebody messed up and they double booked my room. They told me that they were sorry, but they had no other rooms available for me even though they gave my room to somebody else. I demanded a refund. I will never return to this establishment again and neither should you.
We were in room 104. It’s on the side of the main hotel. Kinda like its own little house. The bed wasn’t made, the sheets and garbage bags were just thrown on the bed all bunched up. The comforter was thrown in a wad in the corner on the table with a pillow and it looked dirty and gross, not cleaned or fresh. The sheets maybe we clean but there is stains so it’s hard to tell. They had two pillow cases and the pillows were on the bed without cases on. It was on top of the bed topper that was completely covered in what looked like vomit stains or possibly pee. If there were cleaners, you think they’d at-least put the bed together. We brought our own blankets in because that’s how gross it felt using the ones there. Around the outlets and doors and edges of everything are dirty. Dead bugs in places. Smells bad. They have big used body wash and shampoo, open mini toothpaste. One of each size towel. Definitely didn’t feel super safe. The code is supposed to be your phone number and ours was just random. Felt like someone living at the property or at the bar might know our code and walk in at any moment throughout the night. Very loud from the bar across the street and trains passing by. It was just very dirty. No exaggeration, felt dingy and gross and like I’d rather sleep in my car. Maybe bring shower shoes & your own cleaning supplies if staying & barricade your door
