I recently stayed at the Westin Southfield, and honestly, for a hotel that holds a 4-star rating on Google, I expected more.
Let’s start with the room service; it was overpriced, came with auto gratuity, and didn’t even have the decency to show up on a silver dome tray. For reference, I spent $70 total just for breakfast and a burger dinner.. for one person. At those prices, I was expecting a little more elegance, not a basic to-go setup.
I booked a room with two double beds because the king beds were booked, but let me tell you, these were more like solo sleepers. There’s no way two people could comfortably share one bed. I couldn’t imagine being here on a family trip or with friends and trying to make that work.
Overall, the hotel itself wasn’t terrible, but the value just wasn’t there. For a supposed 4-star experience, it felt more like 2.5 stars with a nice lobby. Probably wouldn’t book again unless it was the only option in the area.
