「Sende was extraordinary. We loved our quiet cottage in the forest but also being able to access town in a short walk. The restaurant was delicious and the staff was pleasant. We were excited to experience Monteverde but hadn’t done much planning before arriving. The staff helped us coordinate tours and all their recommendations were great. 」

Hotel beachfront is one of the better and higher class feeling beachfronts in the immediate area. The room was very nice, cold A/C (central ac! hard to find in Costa Rica), and clean. Regarding the area, it was my first time in Santa Teresa. There are some great restaurants in the area but overall it felt like a sketchy town at night and very dusty/dirty due to...

「The property is beautiful and you definitely get the sounds of the ocean. Disappointing that the pool closes at 6pm as there isn't much else to do in the evening unless you leave the property. Seems like a miss as there are mostly adults here.」

「This place is pretty special. It is a small, low key resort. My son wanted to stay close to the pool, so we stayed in a standard room. The room wasn't great. The beds were hard, it could use a refresh, the air conditioner was loud, and there was no soundproofing. If we had picked one of the bungalows or treehouses, I likely would have given the place 5 stars. It is a nice alternative away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna but still close to lots of attractions. 」

「Although not a far walk from the centre it had lovely feel of a jungle cabin mainly due to wooden interior. This made room quite dark but what you would expect in a jungle. Saw a Toucan a few feet away on the balcony. Breakfast very good. Stayed two nights.」

「Great, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds, including their own nature trail. Great view of surrounding mountains and calories from an expansive balcony that is used for the breakfast area as well as for lounging. It overlooks a small garden where you are guaranteed to see lots of hummingbirds. The furnishings are a bit old but everything is clean and tidy. Our room had its own private balcony. 」

「Better than expected. Great room good size and all facilities but mattress very old and creaky as breakfast service let it down. Remember all yours cash only and nearby cash points didn’t work for us and hotel unable to give cash back. 」
