Exquisite, tranquil hotel serving excellent food.

Exquisite accommodation set in a tranquil location with excellent food. A true gem of a hotel. The owners were excellent with their attention to detail, and their exemplary hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome.

We loved everything about Clow Beck House and especially the genial and brilliant Heather and David. The setting is superb, the rooms well appointed and the welcome so warm you could toast your toes on it. The restaurant food is quite outstanding and served in delightful surroundings. We held a family dinner and it was , without doubt, a glorious feast in a gorgeous setting. We cannot fault the quality of service. We are now looking for an excuse to go back. Amazing stay at Clow Beck House

Had the most amazing time...The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We arrived and were made to feel welcome from the onset. Shown to the beautiful lounge and given freshly brewed coffee and homemade shortbread free of charge. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a huge kingsize bed. Lovely bathroom with every you needed and a walk dressing room. The food was fantastic....evening meal was one of the best I've had for a while and breakfast out of this world with produce locally sourced and top quality. I would highly recommend.

First class accommodation

First time at Clow Beck and I can honestly say that this is the best accommodation I've ever stayed at on a business trip. The attention to detail was fantastic and the rooms were excellent both in terms of size and furnishings. I only had breakfast and this was wonderful. The next time I stay I'll look to include an evening meal as well. The rooms are so quiet and peaceful which helped me get a fantastic undisturbed full night's sleep.

Good hotel near Darlington

Very nice hotel. Quiet location. Food is delicious and well cooked. Fantastic reception when checking in. My 2nd stay here, and I come back again.

Cannot recommend enough-a wonderful place to stay!

Clow Beck House was a wonderfully relaxing location to stay-from arrival Heather was so accommodating and made me feel so welcome. The location is beautiful and peaceful; the room well decorated, with a super comfortable bed and a choice of various pillows! The addition of extras such as chocolate on the pillow, tasty shortbread and a hot water bottle were lovely touches. I ate dinner in the evening-the choice was great (I thoroughly recommend the lamb and the very tasty chips!) and everything was cooked from scratch-David is a wonderful chef and this was proved the next morning with an equally delicious breakfast where I was told I could eat as much as I wanted! With snow falling, Heather called family members to ensure roads I would be travelling on were clear-such an above and beyond thing to do, but unsurprising with how welcome I was made to feel. I really cannot recommend Clow Beck House enough-in fact my only negative is the short amount of time I got to spend here! It truly is a hidden gem and you will not be disappointed if you stay.

Clow Beck House - perfect village setting.

Wonderful place to stay if you want a quiet village setting. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The area is a gateway to the Yorkshire moors and dales. Lewis Carroll's father, Charles Dodgson, was the parson at the nearby church in Croft-on-Tees and is buried there. The hosts at Clow Beck House are wonderful and the breakfast is spectacular.

Little gem in the middle of nowhere

Lovely farmhouse hotel, had all the facilities you would want in a bedroom, very thoughtful of the owners. Breakfast was truly excellent, good service and excellent food, all homemade. Owners very friendly and helpful too, made it a pleasure to stay there.

Fantastic little find!

We stayed one night whilst attending a friends wedding in a nearby venue. The hotel owners were the most friendly and professional we have had the pleasure of meeting. We had a taxi booked to the wedding venue but the owner insisted that we cancel and let them know when we were ready as they would take us! The hotel and surrounding garden is beautiful and the rooms are beautiful, we wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast menu was very extensive and the food was of a high quality. We look forward to staying again!
