VERY COLD ROOM

Despite the hotel had a brilliant location in the heart of Cusco and the staff was nice recommending restaurants , the room was not what I was expecting because it was so freezing that all of my friends were sleeping with tones of blankets. definitely , the price is too high for the what it was the hotel.

Pretty basic, good for the money

I would recommend this hotel if 2.5 stars is what you want for your holiday. It is actually pretty close to a 3 *s, and the room, service, breakfast are all "honest". You are definitely getting what it says in the hotel description (except for the safe, I saw none in my room). I found it simple, but it worked for me. The only thing I should mention, you need to go up about 45 steep steps to get to the hotel, from the end of the Ruinas St. Then, once inside the hotel, you'll need to go up another set of 20 stairs to get to your room (there is no elevator on site). This might be a challenge for elder people, and I personally do not recommend this place to anyone over 55 yo.

Zentral gelegenes Hotel

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Nähe des Plazas de Armas. Die Zimmer sind groß und gemütlich rustikal eingerichtet. Der Fernseher ist etwas alt und hat kein gutes Bild, aber das hat uns nicht gestört, da wir ihn kaum genutzt haben. Das Bad ist ebenfalls etwas in die Jahre gekommen und war der einzige Schwachpunkt für uns. Allerdings war auch dies immer sauber. Das Frühstück wird in Form eines kleinen Buffets in einem Raum mit schönem Ausblick über Cusco serviert. Die Auswahl ist nicht so groß, war für uns aber ausreichend.

Staff was great very helpful, friendly and personable. Rooms were ok. Breakfast could be better and more variety. Close to plaza de armas. Easy to get to and leave from l. Great location overall. The desk guy helped us get tours and taxis booked and gave us lots of good tips and advice. He seems like he really cares about his customer service and personalized everything foe each customer

Great deal, location, and staff

My sister and I stayed for one night at this hostal. It is just three blocks from the Plaza de Armas, but is also quiet. Cusco is cold at night, but the hot water and comfortable bed coverings made for a comfortable stay. The next day, after checking out, I wasn't feeling well because of some contaminated food the day before, and the hostal offered us a room to rest in before our plane left and wouldn't let us pay for it. I highly recommend this hostal.

Great Hotel...near the main Plaza

The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful!! The room was basic but quaint and rustic (you are not paying for luxury) but was very clean, the hot water and water pressure were fantastic!!!

excellent staff- he called 2 cabs for us to airport (for better price than we had paid coming from airport) and stored luggage after we checked out; excellent full breakfast; interior room so w/ no windows it was damp after 3 showers, also no heat (usually wouldn't be needed but this was an abnormally rainy and cool end-of-May and the all-stone construction also kept it cool, though warm enough in bed w/ plenty of blankets)

Hôtel situé dans le beau quartier de San Blas

Un bel Hostal pas très cher à 10 min de la place de Armas. Les lits sont confortables et les salles de bain propre. Il y a une belle petite terrasse au premier et c'est au deuxième que l'on prend le petit déjeuner. Nous avons une très belle vue sur la ville et les montagnes.

Nice hostel a couple of blocks from everything

Cusco will give you a headache, because of the altitude and the weather, for sure you'll need a place to rest your head and recharge your batteries. This hostel is two blocks from the main square, one block from great restaurants and bars, safe to go out and if you feel bad, go back and rest... and when you feel like you could walk some more, the city will be yours. Good bed and amazing hot water, sadly didn't had the time to taste their breakfast.

highly recommended for travelling on a budget

Walking distance from downtown attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wifi is free and strong. I would definitely go back.

Great Staff ~ Hotel needs updating

The staff was really nice and helpful even with limited comprehension of English. Located in a great neighborhood near the JW Marriott, there are lots of nice restaurants, a grocery store and shopping on the access street. If you're physically limited or find altitude a challenge, this hotel would not be a good choice as you have to climb 25 steps to reach the front door, then more if your room is on the 2nd floor. The rooms are clean but the entire place is dated. There are no comfy common areas and some rooms have no windows. My room had a high window that couldn't be opened which was a problem during my stay because of the high temperatures - no fans were available and it was stuffy. The breakfast was good and there's a nice open courtyard off the dining area. Good for backpackers and budget, I would not recommend this for relaxing or luxury.

Cute hostel with great staff

The staff was super awesome and very helpful. The hostel was walking distance of all of the great plazas. The showers are so perfectly hot; I dreamt of them during my 4 day trek on the Inca Trail. Breakfast was good. I don't normally write reviews, but this place deserves it!

Hostel Orquidea Real ligger 5 min gång från Plaza de Armas i Cusco, dvs ett mycket bra läge i stadens Centro Historico. Något turistigt, men när man inte är flytande på spanska är det inte en nackdel att bo i ett område där man klarar sig på engelska. Hostelet drivs av en mycket trevlig och hjälpsam familj som anstränger sig för att ens vistelse och semester ska bli så bra som möjligt. När vi kom tillbaka sent på kvällen efter 4 dagars vandring längs inkaleden hade de inte glömt att vi skulle upp tidigt nästa dag för att föyga hem. Taxin var redan bokad, vi fick ett rum på första våningen för att lätt ta oss ut och vårt bagage hade de förvarat utan extra kostnad. Det enda negativa som finns att säga är väl att det är svårt att ta sovmorgon, då det ligger en trafikkorsning precis utanför. I Peru använder man tutan väldigt ofta när man kör och trafikpoliserna använder visselpipor, redan tidigt på morgonen hörs dem. Men det är väl snarare kritik till landets trafikkultur än kvalitén på prisvärda Orquidea Real.
