Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort

"The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Location was great. Food was delicious. Pools with swim-up bars were the best. We saw monkeys in the trees and iguanas swimming in the pool. We were there in April so no crowding. The balcony overlooking the pool was great.
At check-in the desk clerk was very short and impolite.
Ice machine for our section of the resort (across the street from the beach and restaurant) was out, making it inconvenient. The AC (mini split) only cooled the area it was in leaving the bed area warm. The adult pool was not the adult pool.

"Waitstaff at restaurant and beach bar were amazing! Very attentive, friendly conversations, missed nothing in terms of service, remembered names and room numbers after first meet. Housekeeping was okay but left the same dirty cups in my room for 4 days. Front desk at check in was good and informative; check out was rude. Nice that the hotel helped with some excursion and shuttle planning. Great private beach access and saw howler monkeys on the path down (twice)! Pool was lovely. Included dinner was amazing - 3 courses each night with a great variety. Good time overall. "

"The property, which is in a natural preserve, needs better upkeep. The rooms are dated and our bathroom had lots of mold, which is totally unacceptable. Also, the rooms are spread all around the property through trails and you go up and down the mountain to reach them. This, in the suffocating heat and humidity, is exhausting. There is no A/C anywhere in the property except the bedrooms.
The restaurant is ok, but again: no A/C, limited options. The one shining pearl in all this was the SPA. I had a relaxing massage with Fanny, which was fantastic."
