The room itself was very clean, but it was outdated and a little run-down. The pool area definitely needs some attention. There were leaves everywhere, and there was a pool chair sitting in the pool the entire week we were there. The hot tub also needs to be deep cleaned. The staff was friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend this location for a young family or a group of girls. The area surrounding the hotel is fairly decent, with a lot of restaurants nearby, and it shares a parking lot with In-N-Out. However, there were definitely some interesting people staying there who made our stay a little uncomfortable. We chose this hotel because we wanted a cheap place to stay for a week-long beach trip, and I can say we got what we paid for.

It wasn't my best trip to the Vagabond which I stay at a couple times a month for 2 to 3 days. Staff is great, this is a budget hotel, but is clean, affordable, has coffee in lobby 24/7 and a great pool and awesome hot tud. Other good things are the ice machine is always working, the shower pressure is good, microwave, fridge, and TV are also good. Same parking lot as In and Out which makes it safe. Unfortunately this trip was just not going my way. I really wanted to take a hot tub which is a big reason I choose this Vagabond and it was cold. Total bummer!!! At 6AM the fire alarm went off in the room next door and was on for20 minutes. It was the 1 day I had planned to sleep in until 8AM. Got my day started early that day. the TV channel I wanted to watch had no sound? I don't know why. Usually this is a solid stay for cheap with this huge old Gunite hot tub with amazing jets. The staff is good, and things go smooth. My stay was okay, but not what I am use to at this site.

The room was dirty when we checked in.There was old coffee and coffee grounds in the coffee maker.The free breakfast that was advertised did not exist.The hot tub was cold, and our room's heater wasn't working to the point where it was less than forty degrees in the room.And we did not sleep at all. We requested a refund and they refused. We will never stay here again. Also expedia refused to help, even though we book hotels every week for work, to the tune of 30k per year. Great job losing our business expedia. And we're in costa mesa 4x a year for work so for job loading our business vagabond Inn

This place is disgusting. All the walls were rotted floors were dirty. Nothing was clean. I found a dead bug on the beds. The sheets were disgusting. The AC barely worked it smelt terrible I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Room 114 was horrible. The laminate floor was coming apart everywhere, the a/c did not work, old outdated furniture, bathroom door had holes in it and the paint was stained, etc. The manager was hard headed, not friendly at all, and treated his employees rudely and poorly in front of guests. Raja, the man who checked us in was polite and helpful to the best of his ability. After staying at over three hundred hotels and motels in my sixty seven years, I can say no to this one.
