This place is older but has a nice charm. Staff was friendly, room was clean, & the golf cart rental right next door gave us a little discount for staying there too. The pool & hottub were a bonus, but it closes early.

We loved this place! It was the perfect place to bring kids. The pool was amazing… the shallow pool is great the littles and the bigger kids had a great time in the big pool. Snow cone shop is a great touch! Can’t wait to go back!

This is a great place in the center of Old Town Port Aransas. Great to walk or rent a bike (at a separate business) and access pretty much any part of town with ease. Great cart rentals on site, also.

Absolutely the best place to stay in Port A. The Tropic Island Resort is amazing! The pool area is awesome, rooms very clean, cute room atmosphere, and staff very friendly. We will definitely be back to stay! I highly recommend!!

Dog friendly and relaxing

We stayed with our puppy and it was perfect! The room was dog-friendly and there was plenty of space for us to take her on and off leash. There was also a relaxing jetted hot tub as well as a wading pool, a lounging pool, and a swimming poll—all saltwater!

We really enjoyed the fact that we got a whole cottage with a kitchen and living room for the price of a regular hotel room. Pools were cool and had an attached snow cone shop. The place is older, so dont expect your room to look like the Hilton on the inside. We would definitely come back the next time we stay in Port A.

Great little getaway place

Nice clean comfortable room. Not everything it updated buts its a great value. Will definitely stay again. Nice pool area. 2 miles straight down the road. Office staff is very friendly.

The place very dirty, there was hair in the shower drain when we got there and the floors were grimy. The pool was fine and the location was good.

The staff was easy to work with! They even called us to check on our ETA because a water line was busted on the road in front of their property. So the front entrance was blocked and they wanted to let us know. It was a 5 minute drive to the ocean and super close to several restaurants. We look forward to staying with them again next year!

Don't stay here if noise will be a problem. We could hear our neighbors entire conversation. The walls are thin. Other than that I feel like this will be the place I stay at from now on, I love the pool, hot tub and pool area. The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice. The lady at the desk was really kind and helpful. Its pet friendly. We paid a $50 pet deposit for 3 nights. Not bad.

We had a great stay this weekend!! Staff was very helpful, the pool was AMAZING! We even enjoyed the hot tub! And the location was so easy to find. The only complaint we had were the beds were hard as a rock. Definitely had a difficult time falling asleep. But we are willing to come back and try a different type of room next time. Thank you Tropic Island! See you next time

We stayed in a cottage. It was great for our family of four. Separate queen bedroom. Nice kitchen and living room. Good place for kids to sleep. Nice tv’s and channel selection. Air conditioner and ceiling fans worked great. The pools were nice. One shallow that our two year old could walk around in and nice shaved ice and ice cream stand in the pool area. Pool area also has some games and good seating and tables. Great restaurant right across the street and others in walking distance. Will be coming back for sure.

This is our first time staying here and other than the fact that Expedia did not tell us there was a resort fee which we had to pay when we got there which was a surprise and other than the fact that our toilet exploded, but they put us in another room really quick it was great . The poolAs they stated was heated The photos are exactly as the facility or should I say resort is and the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond but other than my experience with Expedia, I will let them know. We had an awesome time and we will definitely come back and tell family and friends, the same thing since they’re already asking us # reason for 5 stars .
