Hotel is in a lovely location looking at the sea. The neighbourhood has character but is dirty and shabby. like most of Conakry. The hotel is a welcome oasis.

They forgot my luggage at the reception when I arrived (it wasn’t delivered to the room). I had to pick it up myself after two hours. The room cleaning was good, and the beds were comfortable. I ordered the buffet one day, but never received the drink I ordered with dinner. I also got food poisoning, though I ate salads, so I guess I only have myself to blame. Poolside service was good, with very friendly waiters. I don’t think the hotel is very old, but it’s starting to show wear – dirty tables and sofas.

Disappointing Stay at Noom Hotel: Far from 5-Star

I recently stayed at the Noom Hotel in Conakry, and while it claims to be a 5-star property, my experience didn’t match the rating. The breakfast was the highlight: delicious with a wide variety of options and a friendly, professional team. The pool was enjoyable, and one staff member stood out for being helpful with umbrellas. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the room was quiet, with no outside noise. I also liked their ginger juice, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, there were several downsides. The pool service was frustrating—one staff member brought menus but never returned. When we did try the food, it was bland and overpriced, which felt unacceptable. The restaurant food in general, except for breakfast, was mediocre and overpriced. The room was unimpressive, with a door that didn’t close properly and required force. On the first day, a staff member entered our room unannounced, which felt intrusive. The gym was tiny and poorly equipped, more of an afterthought than a proper facility. Staff professionalism was inconsistent—some were well-trained, but others seemed unprepared. To make things worse, the hotel charged a high fee for a late checkout, which felt unreasonable for what they offer. Overall, Noom Hotel falls far short of its 5-star claim. While breakfast and the pool were good, the poor service, bland food, and underwhelming facilities make it feel more like a 3-star. For the prices, I wouldn’t recommend it.
