The good: staff was nice, there is an option to request late check out via text. The bad: power outlets didn’t work, phone didn’t work, there was a sulphur smell to the water, the tub was stained with something (hair dye?). The ugly: I woke up covered in itchy bites after the second night there. I didn’t see any bedbugs, but I sure am itchy and I have the red bites to prove it.

Lamps had not been dusted in years. Furniture is ancient and my night stand had multiple child stickers on it that had been partially ripped off. The entire floor (not just room) smelled of cigarette smoke and weed. Had to wrestle the shower nozzle to turn on the shower and the bathroom vanity had a very large burn stain on it. Overall the room had clean-ish sheets; however, the towels did not smell clean. Additionally, the front desk staff tried to make a copy of my debit card - understanding the part of town (a little shady I admit), this should never be a practice. Charge the guest at the time of check in or ask if the card on file should be charged at checkout. You should never under any circumstances copy a guests credit or debit card. I will never stay at this line of hotels again. Absolutely disgusting.

First room we went to was 114. Littered with roaches. Stayed there about 4 months prior and hair and trash all over room. Will not be staying there ever again. Gross.

The entire hotel had a roach infestation, many exposed wires, and evidence of bed bugs. The singular employee on staff was entirely unhelpful, only offered to switch me from one room with roaches to another that also had roaches. Another lady who was staying there the same night was given a dirty and clearly used room without the room being cleaned, and upon calling the desk to ask for a room change, was offered a pillow. Also, the advertisement for the hotel claimed it was a Baymont Inn and Suites, a reputable hotel chain I’ve stayed at before, but upon arriving, I found out that this location was actually owned and operated by Ashkar Hotels, and simply had Baymont’s permission to use their name on the signage, but was otherwise unaffiliated with the chain. I am very disappointed and angry, my vacation had to be cut short as a result of all of this, and the hotel themselves did not offer me any kind of refund or compensation. A word to the wise, never EVER stay at the Baymont Inn and Suites by Wyndham Columbus, and do your research to make sure the hotel you stay at is actually run by the name on the front door.

I was cached into a room that was beyond dirty!! It had roaches first of all, there were sex marks on the blanket and hair, the bed was on the floor with the frame up against the wall beside it and it wasn’t a king like I reserved, there was blood and other stains ALL ver the walls, there was splatters of poop in the toilet, and the shower curtain had blood and other marks… NOTHING was stained just needed cleaned AND NOTHING WAS! I called the front desk immediately and said EVERYTHING I just stated plus “ this room looks like I want to report this hotel if this is a room that’s supposed to be occupied” his response was ma’am you can come get blanket from front desk” ! After going off at the front desk and people checking in to get me to be quiet they switched my room! It had no blanket but at this point I didn’t want one so since I checked in so late already I just went to sleep n left when I woke up. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS HOTEL FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING

The check-in process was smooth and simple. I appreciate that especially since it was late at 10pm and check out at 3 am was just as smooth. The staff was friendly and no one bothered me during my stay to clean the room, trying to get in around my schedule. The beds are soft and oversized like a cloud. I had jet lag and slept so well.

There are obvious steps happening to improve the hotel overall but it still leaves a lot to be desired. New flooring in rooms, updated bathrooms. Furniture all old and beat up. Bed itself was not bad - headboard had enough dust on it to kill a horse though.

There was no breakfast offered. The people who are operating this facility are not friendly. I thought I has rented the Penthouse suite, because it was to be a smoking room. However, when I arrived, i was put in a first floor room. The door key would not work. Why ??? There was a person already in that room. So, there was a second attempt to place me in a first floor room. The entry key did not work. At this point I became angry and demanded that I be placed in a second floor room. That request was accommodated. The room is not fit for me to take a shower as it was not clean at all. The bed is excellent, but the room needs a major cleaning.
