The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), is a convention center located in Colombo. Built between 1970 and 1973, the convention center was a gift from the People's Republic of China in memory of Solomon Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka from 1956 to 1959. The construction of the Hall was carried out by a joint Sri Lankan and Chinese workforce with a considerable portion of the building materials being imported from China. In 1998 a small Exhibition Centre, the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, was built on the grounds as a gift from China. The BMICH premises is managed by the S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BNMF) which is chaired by the President of Sri Lanka. The BNMF has an academic wing specialized in International Relations, Languages & Cultural Studies named "Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS)" located within the BMICH premises.

Walking into Plus Nine Four, I felt right at home! It had a very homely atmosphere, and there are a few tables outside and a few inside, so you can sit where you prefer. The service was fantastic since within a minute of taking my seat, I was brought a menu. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, going to great lengths to cater to our needs. #TroverFoodies

Gangaramaya temple is situated just 1km away from the heart of Colombo. I highly recommend you to visit this place if you find yourself in Sri Lanka. You will witness thousands of temples while you are traveling around Sri Lanka. All those temples are influenced by Theravada. But, Gangaramaya temple is influenced by a mixture of Theravada and Mahayana and it's really a nice place.

We spent 2 nights here. Firstly the interior of the building is simply stunning. High ceilings, large windows, lots of open space and seating, plants and tastefully decorated. Our room was also well appointed with a large comfortable bed, wardrobe and air conditioning. The bathroom had a lovely shower ...

The staff need to be re-trained. House keeping was inconsistent - four towels, then two. Six waters, then none. Laundry had to be chased. The staff at the breakfast restaurant were appalling. Cutting in front all the time when walking, standing in groups talking whilst we were trying to open doors. ...
