The room was clean but could do with a deep clean, staff were good. Balcony was a great addition. Overall I would 100% stay again, very central and convenient location. Bit of a walk to get your luggage to hotel. I will be using the hotel again.

The room was clean and tidy, but very hot - this is late October! There is no aircon in the room I stayed in and it is too noisy to leave open balcony door. The St Nicholas says its a hotel, but in reality its "some extra rooms over the road from The George Hotel". It doesn't feel like you're staying in a hotel at all. Balcony outside light wasn't working and clearly hadn't been checked.

The staff were excellent. More attention to detail on the room cleaning would be appreciated: dirty walls and woodwork and lots of limescale in the bathroom, some of which was rectified without hesitation once reported. The town centre location is great for accessing all the great things Colchester has to offer, however, it was very noisy throughout the night from bars and drunk people.

The room was fine, good size, clean, everything in working order. However, the room was extremely hot with no air conditioning and there was a lot of noise from outside. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to check in early but unable to change our room to reduce heat or noise as the hotel was full. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.

Great location and large clean room. Very disappointing breakfast at the George though. Waited 20 minutes for a very unappealing looking plate of food and a bizarre set up. Sticky tables in breakfast room too. Staff were lovely though.
