This property is suitable only for a couple. Charges seem expensive for the place considering it’s location and it’s facilities (there is no hob even though there is a kitchen). If you are including kids, there may be additional charges for them. Spa is provided as part of the facilities, however it’s a very cold Spa. You won’t really be able stay longer.
A really nice place to stay, the town was an old gold mining town but was still thriving. We had a meal at the Post Office which was very nice. The only downside are the sandflies, I never saw them but the little blighters got me about 4 times. As soon as the owner noticed we were sat out doors he came out with a bottle of spray.
The room was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anybody.

Homely B and B
Very clean and well run bed and breakfast. Euan is always there and willing to help with anything you may want. The location is very convenient to shops and restaurants in Clyde. We’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Best place to stay in Clyde!
Beautiful setting in Clyde close to shops and dining options. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The hot tub put this stay over the top!
The Hartley Homestead and our host, Euan (and his puppy dog, Jazz!), were incredible. This historic home on the banks of the Chutha, within a few minutes walking distance of "downtown" Clyde, is beautifully appointed and impeccably maintained. We were in town for a couple of nights for the Otego rail trail and were so thrilled to have chosen this homestead stay for our time in Clyde. The grounds, complete with hot tub, are a tranquil and a fabulous setting for a glass of wine after the ride and then waking up the next day to the bird song and Euan's gourmet breakfast.
Had an enjoyable stay at the Hartley B&B.
Very friendly host great location and very relaxing.
Breakfast was enjoyable.
Locals were very friendly.
Gorgeous scenery
Overall very happy with visit to Clyde.
Just spent a great evening at Hartley Homestead on our recent Otago trip. Host Euan went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after: free room upgrade, inviting us in to his home to share some local wine, and preparing a special 'on-the-run' breakfast for us when we said that we had to leave early the next morning. A memorable stay in a fantastic location.
Lovely B & B on riverside in historical Clyde. Very welcoming host Ewan. Bed super comfortable and enjoyed the cheese board and glass of wine on arrival. Thank you!
It was lovely and it had a very homely vibe, the room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable, I had a good sleep.
On arrival he greeted us as we were getting out of car, even offered to help take our bags inside as well. We had mention to him that we were going out for tea, we had a place in mind and asked us if we had a reservation obliviously we said no but he rang the place a booked a table for us, luckily he did or we would have been waiting for a long time. Arrived back from dinner and he set out cup of tea for us, nice and relaxed environment.
Breakfast was delicious, the host was very friendly and polite and we had good a conversation that morning, Jazz the dog was very kind and friendly and playful.
The owner was extremely nice person, he prepared fantastic breakfast and gave us good advices about available attractions in the area. He waited for us even though we arrived really late.
This place is great for a relaxed informal homestay in a lovely old mud brick home with a delicious breakfast and a very helpful host. She is a great asset to local tourism.
Super Unterkunft. Wir waren dort für 1 Nacht. Nette kleine Zimmer, sehr sauber.
Excellent location in the historic old mining town of Clyde. There are numerous walks from the accommodation and many places to eat. The wineries are also very close. The hosts were excellent and great to stay with a Kiwi family during our tour of south island. Lovely breakfasts in a lovely setting. A lovely place to stay in Clyde.
had trouble getting accommodation in Wanaka and so had to look further afield. Also not someone who normally does B& B so was a nice surprise all round.
Beautiful setting in an old traditional country house with all the mod cons you would need for a modern day stay. (apart from en suite!)
Quiet location, beautiful gardens and amazing hospitality
We couldn't have asked for a better nights stay with Melanie and Rex making us very welcome in their lovely home. The setting is so tranquil with their beautiful grounds and only a short walk to a choice of restaurants. We enjoyed a dip in the out door hot tub before bedtime and had a great nights sleep with being so relaxed and the bed being so comfortable. Talk about being spoilt with what was on offer for breakfast. This included local fruit and stewed apricots and plums from their own fruit trees, delicious. Have no hesitation in recommending staying here.
Everything about this homestay was fabulous. Great food, gardens, wine, location and comfortable bed. The hosts were outstanding. It is only a very short walk to great restaurants. Do yourself a favour and stay.
Very friendly welcome. Cute dog Molly. Scrumptious breakfast with homemade preserves and musli. Toilet and shower a bit far from the bedroom, a smallish room. Classy common lounge. Unique historic house construction with a wrap around verandah. Set in a nice garden with 100 yo fruit trees. Charming river walk to town starting right below the property. Town worth exploring on foot with a historic pamphlet provided by the BB owners. 3 good restaurants. Thank you.
