Very pleasant stay, gorgeous property in a quiet part of the city. Great bus link to the airport and a quick walk into the city centre. The host Adrian was very friendly and gave expert advice on what to see and do in Cluj. I highly recommend Hotel Escala for business or pleasure!

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable, well furnished and clean. The breakfast was good and freshly prepared. The hotel is only about 20 minutes walk from the city centre.

Felt welcomed

Amazing host, very welcoming and went all of their way to make me feel welcome. Had a nice little breakfast which was home made, even had one of my childhood marmalade that brought back memories.

Adrian, the owner and manager welcomes you and takes care of your needs personally during your stay. It was a great experience and the only thing I regret is not having stayed longer in Cluj-Napoca to enjoy their hospitality. Definitely will come back.

Dank der netten und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber, fühlt man sich ab dem ersten Moment wie zu Hause. Sie standen immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Das Hotel selbst ist eine kleine ruhige Oase mitten in der Stadt. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannend und einladend, und es gibt viele gemütliche Ecken und einen schönen Garten um sich zurückzuziehen. Die Zimmer waren komfortabel und gepflegt. Es fühlte sich wirklich an, als wäre man bei Freunden zu Besuch. Insgesamt kann ich das wärmstens empfehlen für alle, die nach einer gemütlichen Unterkunft suchen, in der man sich wie zu Hause fühlt.

We had an incredible stay here! The owner's were extremely friendly, gave us great recommendations of places to see in town, and treated us with the upmost hospitality. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful, quiet and charming. Our stay could not have been better and we are so grateful to have found this gem. We will absolutely return in the future and could not recommend it enough!

Super friendly and cosy hotel

We had an amazing stay at Villa - Hotel ESCALA. We stayed there for 8 days for a conference, and some days off. The owners were exceptionally friendly, and they really went out of their way to make us feel like home. We arrived in the middle of the night, but they stayed up for us and greeted us with a smile. The most genuinely friendly hosts we have ever met. Will for sure stay here if we come back, and can not recommend it enough. Breakfast was a small buffet, but very tasty, with different home made warm dishes every day. There is also a very cosy garden, ideal to relax or have a writing day if working. Thank you for having us! Hope to see you again!

The best stay I’ve had in a long time including travel in Europe and United States. I arrived nearly at midnight with my young son after 24hrs of air travel. The owner waited for us, took us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. In the morning she made homemade breakfast for us at 11am when we finally woke up. I cannot day enough about this place. Exceptional in every way and exceedingly preferred to the large, impersonal chain hotels.

Our stay here was very good! It is only 10min walk from the train station which suited us as we arrived by train in the small hours of the morning. Our host was ready to receive us and check us in, making sure we had everything we needed! Both hosts were very friendly and attentive and gave excellent suggestions for sightseeing and eating out. Only small complaint was that it was a little expensive, particularly for breakfast when compared to other establishments in the area. It was however, in my opinion well worth the visit as it was a very nice place overall, especially the hosts!

Charming host Andre discretely and professionally ensures a pleasant stay, he provides detailed suggestions on what to do and what to see, which is particularly helpful as the public tourist information is rather meagre. Beautiful well-appointed room, walkable to city center.

Excellent overnight stay in Cluj

I only had a brief stay at the Villa-Hotel Escala, as I arrived late evening by train and had to fly out of Cluj early next morning, but the manager, Adrian, went out of his way to be helpful in every way. He recommended a restaurant that opened late, took my case to my room whilst I ate, gave me an early morning call at 4.40am and booked me a taxi to the airport. He was friendly and spoke excellent English.

Husband and wide run a top-notch inn, with experience like a cozy B&B. We arrived around midnight, but no problem. Personal breakfast (not included in booking price) was really great. They helped us with travel advice and kept our bags for us after we checked out so that we could enjoy a day of sightseeing at Salina Turda.

Wonderful welcome to Romania from the lovely couple who run this family hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for Claudia and her husband who did everything they could to help us enjoy our brief stay in Cluj. Awesome breakfasts included home made jam and fig rolls from their own fig tree. Hotel has a lovely garden and is peaceful yet only 15 minutes walk from the centre
