Friendly & helpful staff with lots of smiles, very welcoming, great & thoughtfully decorated themed caboose/cabins, well kept yards with lots of shade, lake view & private dock access, quiet nights, very clean and comfortable pool access, yummy breakfasts - one delivered to our caboose and just an overall relaxed atmosphere. We met some great people & didn’t want to leave.

This is our fourth day and the new staff was wonderful both girls very sweet sisters the breakfast was wonderful the help was wonderful very clean. My only complaint is that Expedia put the wrong dates for this swimming pool that's the whole reason why we chose to go to the B&B was they have a pool and it's pretty private which is comfortable for me due to the fact that I have help issues and would not want to be in the pool with a lot of people so this is the smaller B&B there is only three other couples there which came two days after we had been there so still very private but Expedia put the wrong date and so the pool is already closed for the season. So very disappointed on that also the B&B sends text messages in emails to me with coupons and every time I tried to go into the coupons it just sends me straight to Expedia and I can't use the coupons so I got screwed out of 15% off and free rental for paddle boards and kayaks. So there was a few disappointments but not on there and it was on expedious end they put the wrong information in and also would not let me use the coupons that were sent to me. So the B&B itself was wonderful disappointing that Expedia got things wrong on their end.

This property is so unique and the concept of converting cabooses into rooms was genius. We had a wonderful two night stay. We stayed in “The Gatsby” caboose, which has a deck out front overlooking clear lake. The deck was perfect for enjoying our morning coffee and our evening cocktail. Inside our caboose were robes & other amenities to enjoy the in-room jacuzzi. Loved the hanging chairs, and the grounds were so lush and well maintained. The breakfast both days was delicious. We also enjoyed the pool. Megan was so friendly and helpful when we checked in and out. Ally was amazingly friendly & you can see the pride she has for this resort reflected everywhere! Highly recommend.

Okay - speaking as the wife of a train buff, staying here as a birthday surprise was a no brainer. The question was - would I regret it? Is a vacay stay in a caboose comfortable or just kitschy? It was a blast. The grounds are gorgeous. The view? Clear Lake! What’s not to like? A fun pool on campus (with abundant floats - I was big on the giant pink flamingo) and access to stand up paddle boards and kayaks for the lake. Dock access to the lake is right across the street if lake sports are in your plan. Is there kitsch involved? OF COURSE there is, you signed up to sleep in a caboose! Each caboose has a theme which you can choose on their website when booking your stay. But it’s well planned with comfortable amenities, clean as can be with a wonderful and knowledgeable staff to guide your stay with food and activity recommendations. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We stayed right after start of school which means it wasn’t packed and all there were adult. But it’s clear this place would be really fun for kids. I keep thinking with the plethora of cabooses (cabeese?), what a terrific locale for a family reunion or multi family get together. Max capacity, 27 guests. We will visit again.

Our train-loving son was absolutely thrilled from the moment we arrived, and the rest of the family had just as much fun. Staying in an actual train car is such a unique experience, and Featherbed Railroad exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail is fantastic—train-themed touches are everywhere, from the bedsheets to the tablecloths, creating a fun and immersive atmosphere that railroad enthusiasts of any age will appreciate. One of our favorite features was the private dock on the lake. It was a beautiful and peaceful place to relax, enjoy the views, and spend time together as a family. The highlight of our stay, however, was the incredible staff. Everyone was exceptionally warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. The freshly prepared breakfast each morning was delicious and added a personal touch that made the experience even more special. Oh, did I mention they have a book for you to log your paranormal activities experiences? If you have a train-loving child—or if you’re simply looking for a memorable and unique getaway—we highly recommend Featherbed Railroad.

The grounds were awesome. The staff, excellent. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because everything would be a 10. If you are even thinking of staying here DO IT. The breakfasts are only one of the absolute best things about this place. There is not one bad thing that I could even touch on for our stay here. We will be back, looking forward already to trying one of the other themed cars. We stayed in the Easy Rider this time, since I ride a Harley I thought it would be fun. It was beyond any of my expectations. Just get here!!!
