"I would definitely come here again in the future because it was like being home away from home with the place fully furnished especially in the kitchen as we made tasty meals and didn't have to have to go out and buy the small things we forgot for the preparation of the meals. The staff was wonderful and responded immediately when the stove was not working properly and it was a minor glitch. Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend at Edelweiss lodge!!"

"This is a gem -- famly run hotel (couple and their seven children!), in a historical hotel (100+ year old which was a restaurant and many other things over its history). Judy Garland used to stay there in the 1930s. Lots of history. But more importantly, it's relaxed and feels like you're staying in a family house with a family who stays out of your way unless you need help, in which case they are very helpful.
I've seen comments about the bathroom situation. What I can say is I stayed there two different times, and the shared bathroom was not a problem at all. Maybe it's because overall the hotel was not very occupied. I can see if it was fully booked it might be a bit of an issue but also understand that some rooms have their own or a shared bathroom, which means that the communal bathroom doesn't have everyone using it. Also I believe every room has its own sink and mirror, so you can wash face/brush teeth in your own room.
I felt the hotel was very clean while also feeling old and historic.
If there's a downside it's that the town of Springer is pretty dead, and you'll have a hard time getting a meal at night nearby.
Overall I'd totally stay here again and would recommend that you try it if you're in the area. "
"Alpine Lodge was a perfect place to stay during our Red River trip. My wife and I loved how close it was to everything. Literally right next to the ski lift. Staff was super friendly and very helpful getting checked in and out. Bed was comfortable and perfect size for the two of us. Enjoyed not having to worry about keys but used a keypad to get into our room. You can hear your neighbors next door but it wasn’t too bad. They do have quiet hours but it depends on who your neighbors are. Had people being very loud until 11:30 one night, that was a bit of a bummer but once they quieted down, it was fine. Overall, Alpine Lodge was a great place to stay, close to restaurants and shops, affordable and very cozy. We enjoyed it very much. "
"The breakfast was awesome! They cooked our eggs and the waffles were fantastic. Our room was clean and we had a view of the river. The only complaint I have is our niece and her family stopped by for a few minutes while we were out by the river and a guy came out very rude asking if we were guests of the hotel. He could have been polite about it. Will we stay here again…yes"
"What I loved, the beds and shower I miss already! The Ponderosa is currently undergoing a transformation and our room was clean with all new furnishings and windows. Small kitchenette with full size refrigerator. We walked everywhere but Mike can rent you a golf cart at a very reasonable price if you need. Food choices were all within a six or seven minute walk for us. Very quiet at night with no disturbances. We definitely will return. Mike was attentive and easy to reach. "
