"Lovely hotel, very clean room, helpful staff, parking was tricky, is in small building to right of entrance, take out all luggage, attendant will direct you to drive car into lift space, give you a ticket and you take that to reception when checking in.
Matsumoto was a great quiet town up in mountain area, the castle is only 5 min walk away and plentiful restaurants in area to choose from."
"A really old-fashioned Japanese onsen experience like nothing else. We ate in the Japanese restaurant one night and French the other evening. The food was fantastic. Rooms were comfortable but old fashioned. I would highly recommend the room with a private onsen - we saw tanuke (Japanese raccoon dogs) approach whilst we were bathing which was a really special experience. We hiked to the ridge (5 hours return) through a beautiful forest."
