Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge

Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Since this rental was the 2nd part of my extended trip so communication from the owner on how to access the cabin by email in a remote state like Alaska was not the most effective way. I would have preferred text. It scared the heck out of me when I showed up and did not see an office to check in (not realized that there are quite a number of other lodging in the area in the worst case scenario) but the second I called, the owner answered & walked over within seconds. The cabin is cozy and so well equipped with everything you'd ever need. There is so much space for the whole family. My son loves the two-story cabin. The only suggestion: lighting inside the house at the entrance, clearing out multiple bottles of the same syrups, and blocking out the big hole between the bathroom & the back of the pantry. Just very minor, unimportant details so I'd say the cabin is perfect!"

"Staying at the McCarthy Lodge was like taking a walk through time. Lobby area at Ma's Boarding House was awesome and cozy. The gentleman who checked us in on Aug. 3rd was very kind and gracious. The 'hostess' and Jane of all trades at Salmon and Bear was a delight 😊 She too, made us feel welcome and engaged us in lively conversation. "

Wrangell Mountain Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"This place is a gem in the Alaskan wilderness! Four of us stayed in the Bear cabin (one king bed, one bed in the loft, and a twin bed as well). The bed was heavenly! The breakfast was amazing and filled us up until dinner! The hosts, James and Christina, were so very kind and shared their experiences during the delicious breakfast! The property was beautiful, too... you could sit by the river or fire. I cannot believe how comfortable James and Christina made our stay, especially given the remoteness of the place! They provided bear spray, and even snacks and drinks for later in the day. Staying here will be a lovely, lifelong memory! My only advice would be to leave earlier than you think you need to from Fairbanks or Anchorage. "
