"Very centrally located, staff were helpful and efficient.
Room was small but very clean and comfortable bed.
Only complaint bathroom was a tad dated but functional."
"Upon arriving at the hotel and checking in at approximately 3:00pm, I was advised that my room was not yet ready. Whilst delays can happen, this was only the start of a very disappointing experience.
I was also informed that the air conditioning was not working throughout the hotel. My room (1201) was extremely hot, and the window could not be opened, making the room very uncomfortable. I requested a fan on two separate occasions, however no fan was ever delivered.
In addition, the shower in my room was not functioning correctly. The water was only running cold, and the shower head was spraying water over the shower screen and onto the bathroom floor, leaving the floor extremely wet and slippery, creating both an inconvenience and a potential safety concern.
Furthermore, the electric vehicle charging provision was wholly inadequate. There were only two charging points available despite there being eight designated spaces, which added further frustration during my stay.
Overall, this experience fell well below the standards I would expect from a luxury hotel. The combination of the lack of air conditioning, failure to provide the requested fan, defective shower facilities, and inadequate charging provision significantly impacted my stay and left me extremely disappointed."
"My wife and I recently stayed at the Gainsborough that was a lovely experience. However, when my wife booked a Spa treatment the hotel refused to honour the guest 20% discount as we had book our stay through Expedia.
Very disappointing to feel although a hotel guest we were treated differently !!"
"Stunning and tranquil location, it's the perfect place to get away from the outside world while still having easy access into the city centre to explore."
"We arrived late but were looked after at reception by the check in staff. Our room overlooked the floating harbour. It was spacious and very comfortable. It was very good value for money.
Our only criticism was that we did not know that parking had to be booked in advance. That didn’t adversely affect our plans."
"Good location and surrounding.
The botel is lovely with a great view across the lake. The only downside is the heat in the room, with no air con and a fan who wasn't powerful enough to circulate the air which made a poor night of sleep.
Breakfast was good, love the choices."
