We had an amazing stay in this secluded lodge. We had a transfer by boat and we greeted by staff on the pier which was a lovely touch.
The tents are super comfortable, and the pool and pier areas are great places to hang out. The restaurant has a good selection of both food and drinks.
This is indeed an exotic hideaway and can be highly recommended.
Our stay at Naara was blissful! My only regret is that we only had one night there, as having seen the reality I would gladly have swapped out one of our other roadtrip stops to make more time for this peaceful haven. The lodges are literally lakeside and have been perfectly executed to allow even the more nervous of nature lovers to experience the great outdoors without worrying about bugs and creatures being inside the room. The views are epic, the surrounding area is stunning and around 4hrs drive from Maputo Naara is easily accessible by car, especially with the clear signage we were happy to find (you will need a 4x4 in our opinion). The owner and his team were absolutely lovely, very welcoming and gracious and the food in the uber cool open 'inside-outside' restaurant was excellent with service to match! We didn't have time to try out the spa but I can imagine it would be the perfect addition to what is a little piece of secret heaven in the Mozambican bush!
For anyone who likes the idea of nature but finds tent-life too much, I was delighted to find that Naara's 'safari tent' accommodation actually consists of a perfectly secure structure with concrete floors and fine mesh in all of the african-style 'open windows', had AC and even electric lighting. After a slightly more 'real' nature stay earlier in the trip I was so relieved to find the owner had designed everything to make it accessible and perfectly relaxing. A massive thank you to all the team!!

Longue vie à l'eco lodge NAARA !
Great use of a picturesque lakeside location. Attentive, friendly service; excellent massage. Delicious food, varied menu. Rustic, comfortable room with inside and outside showers.
Naara Ecolodge is a beautiful stop on your way to Tofo. We weren't lucky with the weather but managed to keep us busy with playing games. The snorkelling works at low tide and without wind... Food is quite expensive. Staff is very friendly.
We stayed at Naara for two days at the end of a 3 week trip to Moz, SA and Swaziland and it was the perfect relaxing end to our visit before heading back to Europe. We were met at the nearby town where they minded our car and then driven about 10k off road to the lodge. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the villas were excellent with beautiful views, comfortable beds and an indoor and outdoor shower. Food was very good. They provide lots of activities and we did several. Highly recommended for a 2/3/4 day stay.
Had a wonderful stay at Naara Eco Lodge. Plenty to do on the lake as well as at the beach, felt really away from it all. Great food and service. Will be back!
I booked this place en route to Tofo Beach. I had the best rest of all my trip here. Accommodation, cleanliness, staff, food, atmosphere... All #1! It is a great value.
Naara Lodge is just in an absolutely stunning, tranquil location. The design of the lodge and locations is just outstanding - know of no place in the near surrounding that is as amazing. We have wonderful massages at the spa, boated on the lake (water skiing, kayak and paddle boarding) and snorkeled in Kings Pool. We will definitely be back again.
