I loved the historical significance. Glad some if the original features were kept. Front end staff were friendly, professional and inviting.
I had a cleanliness
Super good which was by accident as we had no specific plans to stay in any one place as we were travelling. Just happened to stop and book and we were like wow, what a beautiful place. We just loved the ambience, such history and beautiful. We walked all around the hotel taking pictures. When comparing other hotels we stayed in for around the same price the Plains beats every one hands down. Plus the breakfast is very nice. Best sleep my wife had all trip. Highly recommend you give it a stay. Such history, furniture and artifacts to reflect the culture of the time.
The hotel in general was fine. The bathroom in the room was disgusting! Pubic hairs in the shower. The bottom three inches of the shower curtain was stained with mildew and the smell was horrible. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I have never written a negative review but I was so upset with the cleanliness that I felt like others should be aware.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Cleanliness
Liked that it was historic and had character. Good location, too.
Room could have been cleaner. Fingerprints all over microwave and tv. 3 hairs (2 long and one looked like a body hair) on pillow when I flipped it over. Was it changed or simply reused?? Sheet had stain, and dirty spot on comforter cover. Lots of dust in room. Checked out and into another hotel next night though if it had been cleaner would have loved to extend stay.
Could use updating, but cleanliness is more critical.

Historic hotel with many features reflecting this. Restaurant & bar on premises, walking distance to many other restaurants, bars & museums. Downside is no adjacent parking; park on street or remote lots 2 blocks away or more. Some rooms are a little dated. Mine had a slow draining sink, which they addressed.

Historic Plains Hotel
Old historic hotel....like Cheyenne. Not what I would deem particularly comfortable. Only thing going for it was price. Next time I’ll stay up on I-80. Actually next time, we’ll just forego Cheyenne all together.

Good and bad
Front desk guy was outstanding in his customer service.
No information at checkin such as parking, breakfast, checkout time, WiFi password. No information offered on this historical building or the area.Only negative information on fines if we had pets or any damage. No receipt given for charges. No working ice machines. Bathtub leaked. Plug in only worked on half of it. No one at desk when we left.
Nothing that place needs to be wiped of the earth is sucks so bad and danger from locals no parking inds up in some one pooling a nife on you..or gun and they dont give a rat if you are man woman or child. Stay away from this place
It is a historic hotel and it is preserved. It has a nice area for breakfast and a bar and dinner at night. The location is great, fitness center laundry, and they play the piano I like the view from some of the rooms. The staff is really nice, forgot the young mans name. One of the staff was dressed like the old hotel bellsman in the early 1900's. Its a cute place!
This older hotel was awesome to stay at! Simply beautiful and we loved the history of the hotel. It was fun exploring the 5 floors! The complimentary breakfast was also good. We will be back!

This property has a great location and fantastic staff. The lobby and bar is absolutely beautiful. This is an old hotel with lots of character and charm. The hallways are beautifully stocked with artwork.
The rooms are small and there isn’t much you can do to improve that. I would highly recommend rooms get new pillows, they were terrible and hard as rocks. The heating is very good, almost too good for the small rooms as we had to keep turning the heater off as it was getting too hot too fast.
All in all great stay, beautiful hotel and fantastic staff!! Thank you.
We have stayed at this hotel three times so far, while traveling between MI and NV. I see no reason to stay anywhere else. The beautiful, historic property and the friendly accommodating staff are wonderful.
