No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Vira escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome flight experience is to be prepared. First up, the essentials: passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, bring items that'll help pass the time, like your laptop or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. And of course, don't forget to pop in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
