We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Oreta in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
