• A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. • It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.

• Keep your passport and boarding pass at hand. They're the first things you'll be asked to present to security.
