We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and seeing the best of Le Ricanto in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and pack a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
