Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Lake Louise vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and objects that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
