If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a stress-free start to your time in Izium. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like ice skates, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural fibers and remember to bring a jacket in case you get cold. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are numerous ways to minimize your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks, stay hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
