Always go with flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
• A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce the risk.
