"It was just ok. Location was excellent for us which is a big plus but let down by poor communications (no response to phone calls or emails at all). Check in instructions were sent, but after check in time. I wanted to confirm the arrangements upfront as it was getting to the stage where I thought I would need to arrange alternative accommodation. In addition, the flat itself was frankly, filthy. "- Breakfast is very basic, would not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. - Bedrooms are very dirty and smelly. - Checked in to my bedroom which had a dirty toilet full of stains, the toilet would not flush properly. Water running thru the whole night. Sink getting blocked everytime you would open the tap. - Curtains don’t cover the window properly so you have direct sunlight coming into the room. - Windows are extremely thin so you would hear the cars, all thru the night. -Only positive thing is that the staff is very nice and goes above and beyond."

"Super close to the train station and bus stops- less than a block away. This made it easy to walk to, even with lots of luggage. Room was clean and spacious with USB ports for charging so I didn't have to use my adaptor plug in. Reading was a great place to stay on the night before my flight back home from Heathrow- a beautiful green space park near the hotel to relax in, super easy access off the train, and then easy access (again about 1/4 of a block) to the Railair bus stop for a trip that dropped me off directly at Heathrow. Felt very safe walking around and was nice to see the ruins of an abbey and a local museum- all for free!"

"This was my first experience staying a village hotel, weekend stay. For me, it’s essentially a private gym with a hotel attached, probably in the same sleeping accommodation market as premier inn and pricing bracket. A fee £5.00 payable to use the gym and pool, unless you have upgraded to a club room. Be aware if you like a leisurely evening swim and chill in the jacuzzi the pool closes at 8pm on weekends. Very disappointing , as , had I have known this , i would not have booked the hotel. Location of hotel is good for days out around Berkshire. Weekdays you’ll need an early start to catch breakfast, as it finishes as 9.00am, Weekends 10.30am. Breakfast for me was just “ok” No sign of a piece of fruit or yogurt, granola. There was English breakfast, didn’t look particularly appealing , toast and pastries, served in the sports bar / cafe area. Again , nothing hotel like about it. It’s a typical private gym, food area…David Lloyd type of thing. We had a twin room, very clean and comfortable, powerful shower. Black out blind amazing , you have no idea what time of the morning it is, 0 morning light, but set your alarm, You’ll sleep past breakfast. Be prepared to ask for an extra bath towel/ hand towel as only 1 of each provided per room. Carparking £10.00 for 24hrs. Would I stay again …probably not , but that’s my personal preference. It was outside my expectations of a “hotel with a pool “ stay."

"For a solo traveller, if you need a clean and safe place to stay overnight, this place is sufficient. Room is tiny and one person could barely turn around. Bathroom and ac will be the amenities provided. Checkout was 10am so I barely could sleep in, also I heard clearly and constantly that neighbours’ doors were closed. Parking is at the back and a short walk to Thames river and train station. Staffs were friendly. Anyway you paid for what you got."

"Sad to see a 4-star facility degraded to a 2-star one. Furniture and electrical items were in a terrible state. Complaints were met with 'we have reported it to maintenance' which basically means that nothing will be done during your stay! Shower head had to be propped up with rope to stop it falling! Wifi was poor and TV that runs on it meant that that programmes were constantly crashing. Netflix, iplayer, ITVX etc needed a paid subscription for access."

"There was no Hot water to the Basin Tap The toilet did not flush very well even after 3 x flushes The TV kept loosing signal The shower (Electric) kept going from Hot to Cold The LL milk left for tea & coffee was off The linin was very crisp and clean The Bed very comfortable The Breakfast was very nice The reception were very nice and helpful Its an old tired building"

"Overall a good budget hotel for a one night stay. On arrival the gentleman on the reception desk was not very helpful with regard to where we could park the car. It was dark and very difficult to find the car park. When we finally arrived back at the hotel having parked the car the lady on the desk was much more helpful. Breakfast was good and the room generally ok. Carpet could do with a good clean as many stains on it."

"This is by far one of the worst hotels (I use the term loosely) that I have stayed in. The room was like a set from transpotting and had the most horrendous stench coming from god only knows where. I was put in one of the ‘other’ buildings, no idea what the rest of it is like but surely it can’t be any worse. Avoid at all costs "
