"During a 4 day stay, my room was never cleaned (i.e., empty the trash, wipe down the bathroom counter). The towels, I think were resupplied. the hotel was having some staffing issues. It was clean to begin with but, my trash cans should have been emptied. Cigarette butts in their private sidewalk of the motel. They need to account for the fact that some lodgers are dirty pigs as far as their smoking habits. The breakfast was all industrial food, i.e., packaged mass market sugary cup cakes, sugary prepackaged cereal bowls in. The coffee was low-end Folgers. There was fresh apples, and oranges and milk for the cereal. I was willing to put up with this because the next set of motels will be 19 miles further in Carlsbad. If you intend to stay late for the "bat flights" multiple nights and arrive early before the Park Visitor Center opens in the morning to try to get on one of the limited ranger led tours (24 persons only), then the extra 19 miles one way is costly. I have advise my friends to stay here, but to plan to definitely stop as a big box retailer to load up on packaged salads, sandwiches, microwavable meals etc. The so-called grocery store accross the street has less than one tenth of the typical food items that a corner gas station has."
