"Hidden gem in McBride. This will my go to moving forward. Rooms are spacious, super clean, beds are comfortable, and very quite. Pillows needs replacing."

"Room was clean but no service to swap out towels all week. No cleaning staff when requested. Restaurant not open on time and closed early a couple times. The room smelled like dirty feet and had been cleaned poorly before we got there. Garbage on floor under edge of bed. Building is rundown amd needs upgraded "

"This hotel is extremely run down and dated. Our room, in particular, you could see that the door had been kicked in at some point. The frame needs to be replaced. The door itself did not have a safety latch it was broken right off. Outside our room, the exterior lighting was broken. Our room was fairly clean, the microwave had not been wiped down, and the mat in the bathroom was still soiled from previous guest. The room was probably the cleanest space in the entire hotel. The lobby was dirty and people behind the counter. We're on phones or uninterested in assisting. The continental breakfast room was extremely dirty, it did not look like the kitchen items had been wiped down in a month The two mornings we were there I did not see a table wiped down once after a guest used it. We came as a group and the staff only refilled items when asked and it seemed like they didn't want to do it even when requested. We booked a month in advance, so there was no reason they were not prepared for our large group. The entrance must have been dug up at some point, because there is a huge rut along the entire length that needs repaired."

"Located right on Main Street in the centre of Historic Barkerville, the room and the parlour (to which I had complete access and could curl up with a cup of tea and a book) fit the time period perfectly. Even the gracious and helpful proprietress was in period costume."
