Very enjoyable stay at Plumwood guest house. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Accommodation was excellent as was the breakfast every morning. Definitely stay again if back in Franschhoek

Great quality hotel in a perfect setting

Large comfortable bedrooms in a lovely setting a short walk from shops and restaurants. The are has a nice safe feel to it. The staff are very nice and helpful. They have created a nice garden and pool area to relax in. Great breakfast too.

Gorgeous stay at the Plumwood hotel. The Superior rooms are fantastic, spacious and you definitely feel like you're on holiday. Absolutely loved the generous snacks and cake too. Staff were incredibly friendly and made us all feel so welcome. Would come back again :)

Plumwood boutique hotel was situated close to all the amenities in Franschhoek. The room was spotless. The staff were excellent on always on hand to help us. We had an amazing breakfast with a fantastic choice. Lovely little touches such as a bed turndown, message on our pillow, slippers, hot and cold drinks always available and a beautiful bracelet as a parting gift. We also used the Xest Spa at the sister hotel, Chapter House. We had the gold package which was amazing. The ladies there were so professional. Thank you to everyone for a lovely stay and we will be sure to visit again.

Gutes Hotel, das irgendwie aus einem alten und einem neuen Teil besteht. Poolbereich und Frühstücksbereich sind sehr sauber. Nettes, hilfsbereites Personal. Wir waren aber über der Rezeption im alten Gebäude untergebracht, das Zimmer war zwar renoviert aber doch an vielen Stellen nicht sauber. Außerdem sind die Abflüsse schlecht abgelaufen.

Ein schöner, zentrumsnaher Ort

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Das Team ist sehr nett, das Frühstück war sehr gut und es fehlte an nichts! Der Pool ist ganz wunderbar zum Entspannen und die Lage des Guesthouse ist großartig, da man zu Fuß in die Stadt laufen kann. Die Umgebung wirkt sehr sicher und es gibt direkt vor der Tür einen Parkplatz! Unser Zimmer im ehemaligen Haupthaus lag zur Straße hin. Somit gab es natürlich keine Aussicht. Das Mobiliar ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles war sehr sauber und das Bett ist sehr gemütlich! Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen - vielen Dank noch mal für alles!

Look no further for accommodation!

Wonderful guest house to explore the winelands! Superb accommodation and great hosts, making your trip special with all the little touches around the complex including great amenities plus excellent knowledge of the area including wonderful restaurant and wine estate tips making our stay truly memorable!

Excellent location and a warm welcome

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a well maintained and welcoming hotel. Both owners took the time to have a chat and to enquire if there was anything they could do assist. The hotel is very close to the centre of Franschhoek - for those that do not know it, a fantastic and quaint town with, in our view, some of the best restaurants and wineries in the world all within a short distance. Only (minor) criticism was that the standard room (only one left at the time of booking) as the hotel is very busy) was just a little on the small side. Not a huge problem though as still comfortable. Thoroughly recommended. Will return.

It doesn't get any better than this!

Plum wood Inn was perfection! From the most amazing room, views, service, standards you can not ask for anything better. It felt like we were at a six star hotel and every aspect of comfort and care were considered. If I ever return to South Africa, my vacation will centered around Plumwood Inn and staying as long as possible.

Plumwood Inn - affable service and nice setting

We greatly enjoyed our brief visit to the Plumwood Inn in Franschhoek. The owners are wonderful--hospitable, helpful, and easy going. The location is convenient--a short walk to the main avenue in town and several wineries within walking distance. We would highly recommend this inn for our friends and family.

Well run inn in downtown Franschhoek with all amenities and friendly hosts. Offer advice and will make dinner reservations for you. Relaxing pool area on the grounds.

Spitzen Guest-House

Wir waren im April zwei Nächte im Plumwood Inn und haben uns dort rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Haus liegt sehr zentral und dennoch ruhig. Die gesamte Anlage und auch die Zimmer sind sehr gepflegt und stilvoll eingerichtet. Das Haus wird von einem sehr netten Paar geleitet, dass auch deutsch spricht. Aus unserer Sicht sehr empfehlenswert. Tipp: Das vielgepriesene Restaurant Tasting Room würden wir am Ort meiden. Wir haben dort sehr viel Geld für ein wenig schmachhaftes Menue bezahlt. Einfach die Besitzer nach Tipps fragen und woanders essen gehen.

Nicely located, rooms vary

We only stayed overnight and left too early for breakfast, so our critique is qualified by that. Although check in was quick and efficient, we were disappointed that there was no-one to help lift heavy cases up a steep flight of stairs. Also, our room was in the main building with no view to speak of. Would recommend that if you use this hotel, you ask for a room overlooking the pool area as these looked more modern and had balconies etc. Nice pool area. The hotel is nicely located only a few minutes walk from the main street.

Plumwood Inn, Franshoek SA

Before we even arrived, the Plumwood Inn was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and making bookings for us. The hotel has an amazing location and a soothing salt water pool, the hosts were truly welcoming and breakfast was a joy with a lovely friendly atmosphere. A very easy place to spend time.

Great property in great location

Lovely new spacious modern deluxe room was very comfortable, as was the whole property, which is in a great central location for restaurants etc. Great views from the balcony, comfy bed and linens, good breakfast, nice pool, garden, and loungers, and friendly helpful owners and staff. Would definitely stay again. Small points which could be improved were small size of bath towels, noisy (but effective) aircon with only one fan setting, daily cleaning and maid service / replenishment a bit hit and miss, and 10.30am check out a little early. But overall much to like, and recommended.
