Lovely atmoshere, nice and clean, and wonderful staff. Very nice breakfast. Warmely recommended!
My stay here was extremely pleasant. My room was comfortable, spacious and kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast was super - my choice was usually juice, coffee (good coffee!), fresh bread with homemade jams and eggs in various ways. The owners and all the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The premises are also well situated- quick access from main roads when arriving/departing, quiet, and within easy walking distance from central Stellenbosch.
Overall, I could not have made a better choice and would definitely return here.
We had a lovely couple of nights here whilst we explored the surrounding Stellenbosch area. We were travelling with our baby and nothing was too much trouble for the owners and staff - they had thoughtfully put a mosquito net over the cot they had set up for her and there was a high chair ready and set up every morning when we came down for breakfast - we really appreciated these touches. The property is a beautiful little oasis with a pretty garden and pool. There are also helpful amenities like a communal kitchen which was really helpful when travelling with a child. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again if we return to the area in future.
I had a wonderful time in this B&B. Of course, the climate and the atmosphere fill you already with joy when you arrive from Nl in January. But the scenery of the garden, in particular during breakfast is stunning. As a passionate birdwatcher I enjoyed the garden and counted in just the five days of my stay 15 different species of birds !
Anyway the room and bathroom were OK, breakfast was
marvellous, the personell very very friendly and very helpfull. The only minor ( and indeed very minor) point was my arrival after midnight in pitch-dark, although clearly instructed by email, it still was a bit difficult to enter the premises and find the hidden keys, light switches and the door of the appartment.
I stayed at 10 Alexander B&B during a meeting at The Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study. Very nice hotel with friendly staff, it felt like home! Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic stay and we hope we can stay over again! The owners and staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and with plenty of space for my husband, myself and the two kids. The breakfast was delicious and the best we have had in a long while.
We were looking for a place to stay in Stellenbosch on the last night of our 3 weeks in SA before flying back to UK from Capetown. 10 Alexander B&B was the perfect place for us. The room was great with a great size kitchen available , the beds very comfortable and the breakfast superb. The hosts were great and very helpful, security was great and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Just a wonderful stay at 10 Alexander. It's a wonderful property, with very clean and comfortable rooms. Very strong wifi in all areas. Note that the rooms are excellent especially for families, and they open into a shared kitchen area. It's wonderfully functional, just know that you should get dressed before heading to the kitchen to make coffee! The breakfasts provided are exceptional. Downtown Stellenbosch and all its restaurants are <10 min walk away. Highly recommend, especially for families.
We turned up at 10 Alexander without any plans and our host Evelyn sprung to the challenge. She suggested and excellent wine tour and booked it for us, even made our dinnner reservations for us.
The guesthouse is in a lovely peaceful street and still walking distance to the action.
Excellent
This guest house is very well situated both for driving out into the Winelands and for getting into the most interesting central streets of Stellenbosch - a little far I thought to walk as coming from London it seems quite hot but I always found a parking space. The staff are a very happy seeming, friendly team and they produce excellent breakfasts. My room was pleasant and comfortable though - even with an electric fan - too hot and stuffy to sleep soundly through the night.
Very friendly owners and staff, excellent breakfast in the garden, owners always ready to advise on things to do and places to visit, overall a very pleasant experience.
Fantastic B&B just a short walk from Stellenbosch centre. The owners couldn’t be more friendly, the property is beautiful and the breakfast is wonderful!
We stayed here for 2 nights during our SA trip. The B&B is conveniently located in a quiet part of town but only 10 minutes walk to the centre. Our upstairs queen room was clean and had a very comfortable bed.
Two things set the B&B apart – the fabulous breakfasts (already mentioned in most reviews!) and the lovely, helpful and friendly owners and staff - they make you feel like part of the family and can’t do enough for you. My wife didn’t feel well while we were there and they called on our behalf and managed to get us a doctors appointment within 15 minutes – if only it were that easy in the UK! (Dr Roux was also excellent, 20-30 minutes consultation and medication was approx £50)
The ongoing drought issues in the Western Cape mean that the garden is not currently as lush as some of the pictures. This is completely understandable and the owners clearly take a great deal of pride in keeping the garden looking beautiful.
While staying in Stellenbosch, we visited the nearby Clos Malverne restaurant and would thoroughly recommend it if you have the time.
It was in a great location — just A few blocks to downtown with restaurants and grocery stores, but quiet with only light traffic on the street. Evelyn manages and hosted us to perfection. Not brand new or plush, but it has its charm and beautiful garden. We could not have been happier with our choice. Breakfasts were excellent.
