My recent stay at Oleon Cancun Playa left me with mixed feelings.
**Service and Staff:**
The service was a bright spot in our stay. The staff, particularly Isaac, Laura and Diego, were extremely attentive and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay. Their efforts greatly improved our experience.
**Food and Drinks:**
The food and drinks were decent. While not exceptional, they met our expectations and provided a satisfactory dining experience.
**Hotel Condition:**
The hotel's condition was a significant drawback. The overall state of the building and rooms was outdated and poorly maintained. We had to switch rooms due to a persistent, inexplicable noise in the first one. Both rooms showed signs of age and neglect, with noticeable wear and tear and a generally yellowish tint that did not reflect the four-star rating advertised. There were also leakage issues in the room we stayed in. The installations and infrastructure were disappointingly old and did not match the hotel's online photos.
**Miscellaneous Issues:**
We were also disappointed by the sales presentation offered to us. It promised a discount on an excursion, which turned out to be misleading as we found others paid less for the same experience. Additionally, despite informing the hotel of our anniversary and birthday celebrations, no special acknowledgment or VIP treatment was provided.
**Location:**
On a positive note, the hotel's location was convenient. It was accessib
