"Overall it was a good hotel. The spa is quite pricey. The access to the beach or to the small town from the hotel requires a walk along a narrow uneven path with steep steps or you can walk along the roadside but there is only a pavement for about half of the journey so you end up walking in the road, which is narrow and has blind spots. As it is not fully accessible to everyone you would need to bare this in mind. You could drive to the beach & restaurants but from what are saw there is not a lot of parking. It would be nice if the hotel ran a shuttle service to the beach.
The hotel itself could do with some rejuvenation on the outside and having the windows cleaned on the inside and outside of the rooms would be a good idea.
The Wild Cafe is great for all meals and has a wider menu than the Ogo restaurant and provides better value for money. It would be great if they could create a section in The Wild Cafe that is adults only as listening to screaming children is in no way relaxing. The cocktail bar is nice and if you get a spot on the terrace in the evening you get great views. It would be better if there was a bar by the pool, even if only for peak season. This would save you having to go up and down steep steps.
The pools are good, the smaller one is heated. The sun loungers are not very comfortable as they are in just 1 position so you can’t lay comfortably and read.
I don’t think I would call this a four star hotel, definitely a solid 3 star."
"Comfy bed and pillows, was warm like most hotel rooms but at least had a fan. Food was great, staff all very welcoming and friendly. Struggling to think of any negatives, so the only thing I can think of was that booklet in room says full sky access on TV including movies and sports, it didn't, only had sky free view, but wasn't an issue for me personally. Great place, great location and very interesting history. Would happily stay here again"
"If a a beautiful Manor House that has kept a lot of its old feathers. The staff are polite and nice. Our room was a classic room that had a very small window and not much of a view. There were fans in the room in case of heatwaves. Swimming pool and changing room slightly run down but pleasant."
"We loved the location. The room was lovely and we loved the decor. The staff were very kind and carried our bag up the stairs which was much appreciated."
"Perched at the top of of the cliffs overlooking the ocean, Camelot Castle was an amazing spot with lots of history. It is the perfect spot to explore. the nearby Tintagel castle ruins. The views were spectacular. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended."
"Great place for a family vacation. This is our second visit this year. The gorgeous weather meant we could use the aqua park. We enjoyed the hot tub on our roof top terrace. Air con would have been the icing on the cake but I do understand that this will be a huge cost. I hope the resort does roll out this feature in the coming years as our summers will get hotter. My advice is to bring your own plug in fans as the resort didn’t have any spare to give out. Fantastic staff throughout the whole resort. Any issues are promptly sorted. Accommodation is very comfortable although I did find the beds a little hard. Bring your own spices, salt, pepper, sauces, oil, foil, baking paper etc. Otherwise everything utensils & crockery wise is provided. Great large bath towels! The on site shop is really handy for a quick top up of groceries. Supermarkets do deliver to site also. The whole resort feels really safe. Can’t wait to come back again."
"We really enjoyed our stay at the Lanhydrock Hotel, lovely clean room, great staff & the food was excellent. Stunning scenery and sunsets out on the terrace bar. Will definitely be returning for another stay."
