"Lovely hotel, especially good for young families. I have stayed here previously, at the same time last year and chose this hotel again because I enjoyed my stay so much, in a double sea view room with kitchen area and balcony with sun loungers and dining furniture. I am a pensioner with health problems and these facilities made my stay very enjoyable and restful.
However, when I arrived at the hotel this year I was shown to a much smaller type of room than I was expecting and even though it had a sea view it had non of the facilities which made last years stay so enjoyable. I was very disappointed and complained to reception staff that I wasn't happy with my room only to be told that I would have to pay over £300 extra for the type of room I had last year. They explained that it was because I had booked my stay through 'Hotels.com' rather than directly with the hotel. This was confusing as the room description and photographs on 'Hotels.com' had led me to believe I was booking a better room than I actually was.
I tried to change my half board status to bed and breakfast to make it more affordable but I was told that Expedia (Hotels.com) would not allow this and I had to pay the full price. My holiday ended up costing considerably more than I originally thought.
So my advice is to check thoroughly what you are getting for your money before you book as it can be misleading when booking through online agents such as Expedia. I will book directly through the hotel in future."
