  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Grumpy reception staff but lovely restaurant and bar staff. Hotel is fairly basic. Dont expect tea/coffee in your room as its not the Spanish way. Something for all tastes at meal times. Beds and pillows not very comfortable. We were there for the Iron Man event, 2nd time in the hotel. Would stay again.

Our Spain Getaway

We had a good stay at the MedPlay Hotel Sata Monica. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, had a decent view towards the ocean. Enjoyed a few beers from the bar, the staff were very friendly. Thought the breakfast was very good with lots of options. Hotel was within walking distance to good food, awesome beach and a great running path. We would recommend this Hotel and would stay here again. Don't know if I'd book trough a third party again. Getting tired of the unnecessary middleman. Finding out that you actually get more bang for your buck if you book directly with Hotel or airline and you get to save a few bucks in the process.

Recent family all inclusive stay

Great overall for the kids, all four single beds are comfy and a decent size. Room was clean and tidy. The walls are paper thin, so bare that in mind if you have small children that sleep light. We had family’s to our sides and below but above was a very loud.. I mean very loud couple, especially in the twilight hours, you could hear everything, and I mean everything, got the kids asking questions. The service at the pool bar was fast but the workers could have shown a smile, slight rush to sun beds in the morning but that’s the same at all hotels. The food quality wasn’t too great but what you would expect for the money. A bit of a struggle to use the lifts around meal times as there’s only two, you end up having to que up 3 floors for the restaurant, very unpleasant when it’s hot. The restaurant had a school canteen feel. Once in the restaurant it was a tad crazy, everyone rushing about, lack of respect for personal space. Seemed to be a lot of Russians which is surprising considering the sanctions at the moment.

Nel complesso è un buon hotel, solo se non fosse stato per la nostra prima settimana d'inferno, a causa di più di 90 ragazzi, tutti nello stesso nostro piano. Ogni notte a correre, gridare e sbattere le porte tra una stanza e l'altra, entrando anche nel nostro balcone sottraendoci delle sedie. Ad ogni nostra chiamata, gentilmente qualcuno della reception è sempre salito su a chiedere silenzio ma solo per poco tempo. Al quinto giorno abbiamo chiaramente parlato con il direttore e per causa di questi ragazzi siamo stati noi con un bambino di 2 anni a cambiare stanza e piano. La colpa non è solo dei ragazzi maleducati ma anche dalle direzione e gestione dell'hotel che non fa rispettare le regole in un luogo pubblico, un hotel serio al terzo reclamo li avrebbe mandati via dalla struttura o multati, ma non è stato così. Che vacanza terribile.

La personne qui est à l'accueil n'y a pas sa place on a l'impression de la déranger lors de notre arrivée , pas de bonjour meme en espagnol , on nous demande froidement notre passeport à la suite de quoi nous donnons notre carte d'identité , on nous l'a repose froidement en nous donnant juste le montant à régler pour notre séjour ! nous payons et on nous remet les cartes d'accès chambre et bar sans aucune explications .Arrivé à notre chambre , la climatisation ne fonctionne pas ( chambre 614) , nous descendons à l'accueil , on nous dit que c'est dimanche qu'il n'y a pas de technicien et d'attendre le lendemain . Chaleur dans la chambre température extérieur 33°C . Après une nouvelle réclamation on nous dit que le technicien est passé , la climatisation n'a pas fonctionné pendant tout le séjour ! 11 nuits !!!! de pire en pire le sois disant restaurant est en fait une cantine médiocre , à l'issue des deux premiers soirs nous demandons un remboursement de la demi-pension , on nous explique que ce n'est pas possible , même après avoir contacté expedia ! bruits pas possible a la cantine de l'hotel ! aucun civisme dans l'hotel ! sinon heureusement le ménage dans les chambres correct , mer a proximité et piscine agréable c'est tout . le bar de l'hôtel ou le personnel est aussi charmant qu'a l'accueil , on demande une sangria on nous sert un fond de verre de vin avec du sprite ! Aucun bonjour de l'accueil a aucun moment , le jour de notre départ aucune parole aimable !

NUL !! Arrivés le premier jour à l’hôtel : La chambre pas nettoyée, c’est sale ! (Cheveux, sable ,au sol)La clim est bruyante, balcon et salon de jardin sont très sales , la chambre donne sur une route ,bruyant, pas insonorisé, on vit avec les voisins des chambres à côté. La piscine c’est la jungle ! Tout le monde fait tout et n’importe quoi ! (Sauts et plongeons dangereux à côté des petits enfants) la personne qui surveille la piscine ne sait même pas se faire entendre ! Il n’y a pas de parasols, il faut l’acheter sois même, ou bien le demander à la réception qui vous donnera un parasol récupéré dans la chambre de clients partis de l’hôtel. L’animation la journée est inexistante, pas de musique à la piscine, rien! Le restaurant est pire qu’une cantine ! Une usine à touristes, le soir, il faut venir à l’ouverture (19h30) Sinon une file d’attente interminable. Le petit-déjeuner également, il faut venir tôt. La nourriture est insipide, fade, banale, plats répétitifs, on y trouve même des tomates pourries sur le buffet 3 jours de suite! Ils ne savent même pas cuire une frite ! On n’y trouve pas un seul plat typique espagnol, Le personnel qui débarrasse les tables font la tête. Les tables sont alignées genre (sardines) trop proches les unes des autres ! Avec des nappes en papiers mises sur les tables à l’arrache ! Personnel du bar pas aimable. Personnel réception indifférent. Je déconseille fortement cet hôtel, vous serez déçus , passez votre chemin

El hotel esta muy dejado ,los camareros te dan unos tikets para los vasos y ni si quiera limpian mesas ( te dan la bayeta a ti ) El socorrista ( sin comentarios) habian unos franceses que el se puso a su altura y amargaron la existencia a todo el hotel en la piscina ( los franceses muy mal educados pero el socorrista peor que ellos ) La verdad que no lo recomiendo para nada . Nunca habia visto un socorrista que no se puede mover el hombre . HAY HOTELES EN CALELLA MUCHO MEJORES

Tutto è stato oltre le nostre aspettative! Hotel vicinissimo alla spiaggia e al centro di Calella, quindi con negozi e locali a due passi. Check-in rapido e formula All Inclusive realmente da provare , con bevande calde e fredde incluse per l'intero arco della giornata. ( persino Birra freschissima e Cocktail!) Il bar in piscina offre hotdog caldi, hamburger e patatine come snack al di fuori degli orari dei pasti. Buffet colazione ottimo e abbondante , di tipo internazionale quindi con offerta di prodotti dolci e salati...Pranzo e cena sempre a buffet con ampia scelta di carne, pesce e verdure.Frutta e dolci a volontà. Camera discretamente spaziosa e confortevole con arredi nuovi e materassi alti e incredibilmente comodi. Pulizie camera impeccabili e cambio asciugamani tutti i giorni. Personale cortese, molto disponibile e multilingue. Piscina con lettini e bar davvero piacevole e comoda per famiglie con bambini piccoli. Hotel consigliatissimo. Un suggerimento per migliorare ancor di più i servizi : qualche cuscini letto in più magari di diverso spessore. Noi torneremo senz'altro! Fantastica vacanza.

Bra läge, nära busstationen, shopping och nära strand. Trevliga personal, både på receptionen och resturang. Cleanlady var väldigt hjälpsam. Lång väntetid för resturangen( all inklusive), maten sådär, men bra variation. Dåliga sängar. Prisvärt 😀

Séjour agréable

Sejour agréable, hôtel propre, personnel à laccueil sympathique, animateurs au top. Chambre au 1er avec terrasse magnifique... petit frigo dans la chambre climatisation... plage 5min a pied tous les commerces sont accessibles a pied sauf quelques petits bémol... la piscine nest pas surveillée donc des millions de bouées, ballons, matelas sur l'eau vous empêche de vous baigner... les transats sont réservés dès 9h le matin mais personne ne les occupent... buffet petit-déjeuner pas mal mais il manquait du jambon cru des fruits... des produits locaux... le buffet était plus destiné aux russes, anglais.... (saucisses, haricots, ...). Parking payant a l'extérieur à 28 euros la journée... excessif... manque des affaires de toilette et une bouilloire dans la chambre...

Zeer vriendelijk personeel in het restaurant. Onthaalpersoneel zeer kil en barpersoneel onvriendelijk. Kamers worden snel snel schoongemaakt zonder onder de bedden te kijken. Bij aankomst stond er een papier dat onze kamer gedesinfecteerd was. Onder de bedden lagen wel nog chips, kauwgom, haren, ... .

Décevant!

Plutôt déçu sur la globalité, nous avons eu un souci de Clim en plein canicule avec un bébé, et cela a prit 2 jours à être résolu, je m’attendais au moins à un geste commercial de l’établissement, mais rien, même un verre ou un snack, juste pour le geste… snack favorisé les assiettes de frites qui pour 3€ sont bien remplies, mais pour ce qui est des pizzas, a éviter 7€50 pour une pizza surgelée mais minuscule, qui pourtant est servie dans une grande boîte, pour faire croire aux gens qu’il y a de vrais pizzas!!! Pas de parking, et compliqué de trouver une place dans la rue! Ah oui l’auberge de jeunesse collé à l’hôtel, et beaucoup de bruit, j’avais lu dans des commentaires bien insonorisés mais il n’en ai rien! Point positif les piscines de l’hôtel

Très moyen , à ne pas recommander !

Service d’enregistrement moyen et digne d’un hôtel prêt à accueillir des clients pour une saison d’été !! Chambres pas conformes à la description sur le site Pas à l’écoute des clients et 0 propositions pour arranger des situations compliquées Piscine pas adaptée pour les enfants, trop profonde et dommage ce n’est pas précisé ! D’ailleurs raison pour laquelle elle n’est pas full !
