Tunnel #19. Silver Run Tunnel- legend has it as being haunted by a bride struck by a train on her wedding night. Best to go during full moon. The Rail-Trail no longer operates as a railroad, only to hikers and bikers. The locals say the train whistles are still heard to this day.
#TroveOn #weekendgetaway Surrounding North Bend State Park in West Virginia there are many old railroad tunnels to explore along the Rail Trail ranging from many different lengths and types. This photo of me was taken by a friend as we made our way to mile marker 21.9 - Tunnel #19, Silver Run Tunnel. At 1,376' long and constructed of brick, it's a damp, dark walk into the abyss. Make sure you take a flashlight along with you as this tunnel is reported to be haunted! It is always a fun time exploring West Virginia's trails. :)

Very quiet and peaceful. Nice little gift shop up front. Beautiful lobby area with fireplace to sit and relax. If you want to get away from all of the noise, this is the place to be.
