Wonderful ruins to spend about an hour - hour and a half at. Our guide, Quelly, was wonderfully knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Had we not already booked our Tikal tour we would've booked her for that!
If this is your first visit at Mayan Ruins - spend the money and pay cash to one of the guides outside. They are independent of the park and the park fee, but it gives you the background for what you are looking at. You can read a lot in the main building, but our guy had a lot of info about the excavation of the site and what the assumptions were about which people of the ancient community lived in the various areas. Once we had the basics here, we didn't feel the need to get a guide at other stops, although others we met did and said it was worth it.
This Mayan Ruin is really near San Ignacio Resort Hotel. If you are in good condition, you probably could walk there, otherwise take a taxi for a few $'s.
