Great location in Caen with friendly staff

Location was great for exploring Caen. The staff is young, energetic and friendly. Very positive hostel experience. Young people and family friendly place. Nice to have options for breakfast, dinner or just a cocktail/ wine at The People. I will for sure check out other locations of The People and my kids will too.

Calm stay in a very clean hostel

Two nights in women-dormitory. Although 5 beds occupied of 8 it was a quiet and relaxed stay. Everything very new and clean, shower in the 4th floor with a lack of water-pressure. Breakfast with various food like fruits, different cheese, egg and ham etc. but no dark bread.

Nice place, but noisy

Our room was above the smoking area. We needed to open the window because it was hot inside, but there was lots of noise and cigarette smoke coming in the window, half the night. Very hard to sleep. Also the parking is difficult and not free. The kitchen is nice, with plenty of refrigerator space. The room is nice and clean.

good, but a few work ons to make it great

Really nice new hotel in a good location. Very close to the canal if you are looking for a place for a run. There are 2 things they need to address to make it a great place to stay: 1. There are not enough staff on the front desk or in the bar/restaurant. The night that we stayed the service in both places was slower than I would have liked. This was not the fault of the truly excellent staff on duty. They couldn't have been nicer or worked any harder - there just wasn't enough of them to meet the demand. 2. The arrangement with the adjacent parking garage is really messy. To avail of the overnight parking rate you have to create an account with a 3rd party provider and pay through your phone. This took quite a lot of effort, and even required you to provide your home address! finally, their numberplate recognition system couldn't recognise non-French plates so calls to customer service were required on entry and exit. Surely something more simple can be organised for guests.

Pendant les 2 jours de mon séjour il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude. Je ne sentais pas de la présence de moustiques, car je me suis habituée d'un autre endroit, mais il n'y a pas de moustiquaires. L'eau chaude tue les mauvais microbes et s'il n'y en a pas, le personnel peut diriger les séjournants vers les douches des autres étages.

Le sejour c'est bien passé! La chambre, l'hotel, Le bar et le restaurant etaient bien. Par contre je déconseille le petit déjeuner, il etait cher, pas bien fourni, voir vraiment rien à manger, et limite pas bon.

Vänligt bemötande, personal talade engelska! I sovsalen hade alla våningssängar draperi man kunde dra för och en ljusslinga så man kunde ha släckt i salen men ha slingan tänd för att läsa etc. Mysigt. Dusch/ toalett var precis utanför sovsalen. Med duschbås så man fick vara ifred. Toppen. Fanns även restaurang intill så man kunde äta. Lidl fanns inom gångavstånd. Centralt och 10 minuters avstånd från tåg/ buss stationen.
