A home away from home

The Tropico de Capricornio Pousada feels just like home! Owners Helio and Christine made us feel very welcome and made our stay truly exceptional. Located on a steep hill "Alto Búzios", the property overlooks Ferradura Bay. Walking by foot to the center is possible - the uphill journey is quite a workout, however :)

This is not a luxury hotel as it claims

The property is beautiful, and overlooks Ferradura beach. It is on top of one of the larger hills in Buzios so if you're looking for something convenient I would recommend something in Centro. The view and property are luxury, but the room is not. The furniture is dated, and the linens/towels are uncomfortable. The main light switch in the room was broken and the owners did not fix it. When we asked about it they blamed it on us for leaving the lights on!! This was not the case; the switch was broken. The hotel is a pousada, or bed and breakfast, not a boutique hotel. It is not worth the money they ask. You can find a better hotel or pousada for less money!!

Just what the Doctor ordered!

Tropico de Capricornio was just what the Doctor ordered. We were in Buzios on business with 4 days between our next Seminar. We found Tropico de Capricornio on Expedia and it was delightful. Our hosts walked us through the property and were quick to reference a good restaurant or help us find supplies in the local stores. The rooms are large with loads of charm and each one had a fantastic view. This is one place where the inside matches the outside. The staff were friendly and helpful (always smiling and laughing). As a workaholic we were able to stay busy (free wireless internet), yet with great meals and wine in the city we quickly slept later with each day and became more relaxed. We will be back whenever we can steal some time away from the hustle and bustle of the stress. Absolutely... just what the Doctor ordered!
