Fabulous Duck House, 2 night stay
Another perfect stay at Duck House. Very comfortable, clean, all self contained, wonderful and generous breakfast supplies provided, great location, friendly helpful hosts, original charm and decor. Very highly recommended.

Beautifully renovated home positioned within easy walking distance of all amenities. House was lit up and heating on when we arrived and Lynne the host explained where everything was including full breakfast provisions. A delightful stay 😊

Don't miss a stay at Duck House
Another fabulous stay at Duck House, everything was perfect as usual. The period features, ambience, comfort, breakfast provisions all make for a superb stay. You won't be disappointed.

We felt so at home here. It was honestly one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed at. I wish we were there for longer than one night to be honest, but we will be back to stay again when next in Burnie. Honestly can’t praise this place enough.

The Duck House is a beautifully maintained older home with an abundance of character. The Host was lovely and very helpful and there we’re generous supplies for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely stay in a well cared for historic home. Many ducks, decorative and useful. Well equipped and very comfortable. A beautiful back garden access, even some herbs and veggies to pick. Lovely, informative hosts close by. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous 2 bedroom house. Very clean and comfortable. Lynne and Tish the most amazing hosts and the breakfast provisions were amazing! Definitely will be back and will try one of the other houses 🏠😊

This was the best place we stayed at in Tasmania. I loved the decor and it was large and roomy for all of us. The house was immaculate and homey and just felt so comfortable to stay in. The provisions and facilities were above and beyond. The owners were gracious and welcoming. I highly recommend a stopover here and would suggest longer than I had.

We loved the Duck house it was very unique, very welcoming and was told the history of it. Everything you need is there plus a very generous breakfast, Loved the opportunity to use anything in their wonderful garden. Lynne and Titch were wonderful hosts

A home away from home. Staying in hotels when travelling for work is miserable, having a gorgeous house to come back to was fantastic. Literally everything I needed was available. Including limes for my G&T.

We booked at he Duck House but ended up staying at Amelia's - their other property. Our hosts were generous and lovely, the accommodation was comfortable, and the breakfast top notch. Would absolutely recommend this host.

Once again, an absolutely fabulous stay. Fantastic amenities and wonderful historic cottage/house. Walking distance to CBD,pubs and restaurants. Lynne and Tich are superb hosts- nothing is ever too much trouble, although I doubt you ever want for anything. This was our third stay, and many more to come.

We stayed one night (12/11/18) at Mrs Philpotts and it simply wasn’t long enough to enjoy this wonderful home. Our family group of six adults were very impressed with absolutely everything. From the host’s welcoming greeting, the superbly comfortable beds and top class linen, the furnishings and gardens, the private spaces and the great supply of breakfast provisions, the assistance with restaurant choices and the peaceful, quiet surrounds. Thank you for your hospitality, much appreciated! We hope to return soon.

Enjoyed a great stay at Duck House. As usual the ambience, hospitality and generous breakfast provisions were outstanding. Have stayed at Mrs Philpotts cottage previously and also can highly recommend that, although the Duck House was perhaps a bit more cosy for a couple. Appreciated the heating on the cold rainy nights. Toiletries were advertised as being provided, but there was only soap (no shampoo). Highly recommended, will stay again.

beautiful heritage home well located
Beautifully decorated and furnished in keeping with the heritage style. We received a warm welcome from the owners, and we couldn't believe all the provisions for breakfast. They had thought of everything, for their guests throughout. The beds were very comfortable with gorgeous linen, and the house was lovely and warm. We would definitely stay again, only longer next time!

The photos do not do this house justice!
This is an outstanding destination for creature comforts, beautiful period fittings, generous hosts and edible extras. A country French influence describes the kitchen and dining areas while the living room and bedrooms are plush colonial Australian. The photos do not tell the whole story! The helpful hosts are happy to give you directions and even veggies from the back garden! Easy to find, much to enjoy!

Lovely stay!
We had a lovely stay. We were welcomed by the hosts & made to feel at home straight away. I really loved the veggie garden at the back & a plus was being able to pick some tomatoes to add to our supplied breaky, and they were delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Duck house to my friends

Quirky old style cottage

Great Stay!
Wonderful place to stay. Great facilities with all the extra comforts that make it much nicer than a hotel. Spacious 3 bedroom house that has plenty of room. A lovely garden which is a delight to be in. A hearty breakfast included in the rate and car parking makes staying so easy and a simple walk into town.

Charming, comfortable with a lovely shared garden.
Very pleasant environment, close to the town centre and the beachfront. The house interior is quite quirky with duck things everywhere! The rear of the house opens directly into a sunny and lush shared garden. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Every comfort and amenity.
A four day visit to the north west coast of Tasmania using Burnie as a base for day trips. Our accommodation at Amelia's Cottage in the Duck House Group was outstanding. The cottage was comfortable, warm, clean and charming. The hosts were generous to a fault. Walking distance to town for cafes and restaurants. Perfect!

A great period cottage, beautifully decorated and maintained. Breakfast was waiting in the fridge :-) Great location and easy walking distance to the beach and town centre. Easy access to the main roads. Everything you could ask for was in the cottage.
