Friendly and very interesting hotel

This is an old hotel full of character. Our room was small but comfortable. I liked the ambience and the staff at reception were very friendly. Breakfast was very good.

Good hotel on a budget.

Good hotel on a budget. Visited with my family. It could have been cleaner, but vey spacious room and large bed. Breakfast buffet variety was also good. I will recommend it for trips in a lower budget

Very average hotel for the price honestly. The entire thing needs some renovation and the mattress felt like a baloon, really not comfortable. Breakfast was ok and the staff was very nice and helpful.

Comfortable spacious room

Comfortable hotel, surprisingly spacious on Place Rogier. Good Sushi, Indian and Vegan restaurants nearby, and close to exhibitions and another good cafe at Botanique.

Great location, value for money, and convenient for a short trip. I stayed there for 3 nights and had everything that’s necessary for the trip, restaurants, shops and the metro station is next to the hotel so it’s easy to move around, like 15-20 minute walk from the city center. Would stay here again just keep it mind it’s an old hotel.

A very nice experience. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the TV was placed at a very comfortable spot (visible from bed, but not too close to disrupt sleep), and the bath tub was really nice! The location was great, very easy to get to/from the airport and train station. Also, a very nice location to have a nice long walk around all the city main views

Good location, close the Brussels North Train Station and very walkable to a lot of cool places. My only complaint is that the wifi was really bad. Other than that I had a great stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great location 5 minutes walk from Garenoord (north train station). Easy walk to Grand Place/Grote Market. Art deco hotel with history, very cool. Helpful staff. Building construction nearby makes the area a bit dirty but it was not noisy. Great breakfast buffet!

Amazing and helpful staff! Great location, near the metro station. Hotel was in an old building, so not the most modern from outside, but the rooms were renovated. Bonus points for room having a lot of full lenght mirrors, and complimentry drinks and cookies.

This is a charming hotel. The staff were great! Accommodating, friendly, and effective. The room was sweet, homey, large bathroom. Not the newest, most pristine facility. But a lot of character and very comfortable.

A bit awkward to find down the small street, obviously to no fault of theirs my phone died and I was left to ask a taxi driver where abouts it was quite late on, confortable beds, good breakfast and a decent gym for a hotel, good location for Brussels Noord train station and the tootbus sightseeing stop is a 2 minute walk which i would recommend to anyone interested in seeing Brussels during their stay, reception area is very nice but rest of the hotel is pretty dated

Excellent!

The room is amazing - freshly renovated, comfortable and clean. In the bathroom, the box was too small and dark if you close the curtains. The reception needs a renovation to be aligned with the rooms.

Lovely hotel. It was beyond my expectations. Except on lady in the reception rest of the staffs were great. Unfortunately my room was not ready on time and had to wait 30 mins at lobby. The staff didn’t put any effort to compensate the delay.

Hotel des Colonies is close to everything. Brussels Central Station and Brussels North is only few minutes walk. Close to a shopping street. The hotel is quite old but the bed is very comfortable which is more important for me. The price is very affordable. Lift isn’t working during our stay so we have to use stairs. The staff at the reception were very accommodating and helpful. The check in and check out is very quick and straightforward without complications.

Loved the unique features of the property and the historical significance. Our room was clean, comfortable and the hotel is safe. The staff were helpful and multilingual. Slight negative was that there wasn't a mini fridge in our room. The subway system in Brussels is unsafe which is not the hotel's fault. Guests should be very careful with their valuables and be weary of the people that push behind you to get through the barriers for free.

well connected, clean, but slow internet

The location was perfect and well connected. the hotel was clean. the staffs were friendly. The big problem was internet. the connection was lost after every a few minutes and was very slow. this caused me a lot of troubles as I had to work in my room.
