"Detail: I don't normally leave reviews but if I can help someone out, I hope this is it. Make sure to CALL BEFORE you book online and confirm if there is water. It is a basic human need but yeah, no water in the area during our 3 days there. It ruined the weekend but the staff could not do much. Fault should be placed on the owners to make sufficient back up plans for their Paying staff. "We booked the morning of our stay and when we arrived they couldn't find the booking. We were given a room while it was sorted out. The room was large and light with balcony and stunning views of the dam. A few touches like water in the fridge would have been nice. Breakfast was very disappointing. With a few tweaks The Shore House could be fabulous."

While my experience at the park was great and I got to play with some pretty big lions I found out things about the park afterwards that makes me wish I'd never gone. Basically petting big cats signals their death. The lion parks use the older lions and sell them to the canned hunting industry. I was lied too at the park and do not recommend that anyone ever goes to a park where you can pet or walk with lions. Highly not recommended to visit Ukutula! Or any other lion park in Africa for that matter!

"Excellent value for money. A nice restaurant on site and breakfast offered at a discount rate if we agree on check-in. Unlike the neighboring City Lodge, the Protea Hotel in Hatfield offers you free access to Zone Fitness located in the mall across the street -- for a gym-goer this is an amazing bonus. The rooms are clean and comfortable with free fast-speed wifi. Uber makes everything easily accessible but if you like to walk, the neighborhood is walker friendly."

"The stay was excellent, only the challenge was the TV that was not clear with stars. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The parking was secured and very safe too. Parking at the bottom where I'm enjoyed park there, due to the pillars the security was thereto assist with the parking and can you imagine that both male and female was helping to park. We're used to male doing that but it was amazing to see a lady helping directing me to park and other members too. It's my wish that the Hotel convey my thanks and appreciations to them all."
