Very quiet, clean and spacious room.no need for an elevator. Parking was 10ft to the room. Good ice machine that actually worked. Value of stay was exceptional. Spacious parking lot and great and secure lighting. View from the windows was awesome with the fall foliage. Heard a cow in the morning but did not smell it.

Extremely happy with the stay, especially given the price. I’m also happy to be supporting a local business instead of staying at a massive hotel chain. The place is also located near a well-stocked Walmart, which made my travel resupply a fair bit easier and probably saved me about 20-30 minutes. Next time I’m driving anywhere near southern Virginia, I expect I’ll stay here again.

I recommend Alpine Motel as a comfortable motel at a good price. Although this motel is rather old, it is well kept, and I found it a bargain for a weary traveler.

I stopped in this motel for a night's stay on my trip to Norfolk, Virginia for a Carnival cruise. I was so pleased with my night's stay on August 23 that I booked this motel on my trip home August 30.

Very clean and so peaceful. The owner takes pride in the property. It’s very well maintained and the rooms are very modern. While I was here, there was a storm and we lost power. The owner was on top of everything, making sure his guests were well informed about when the power would be restored. You can’t beat the views. It’s surrounded by pastures but is close to shopping and of course the Virginia Creeper Trail head in Abingdon. I will definitely stay here again!

Room was super clean. You can tell they take pride in maintaining the hole property. It's a very safe, quiet area. Beautiful view of a pasture and if your lucky you'll see the cows. Also a beautiful view of the moutains. Check in/out is quick & easy. I've stayed here multiple times and highly recommend you do also if your in the area. I have nothing but good things to say about the Alpine. It isn't a fancy high class place, it is a simple, get away from it all kinda place which I prefer over high class, overpriced, fancy places. Down to earth & peaceful. What more do you need?

The bed sheets, and blankets were threadbare, torn and stained. (We had to change rooms because of suspicious goop and stains on a bottom sheet in the first room.) The pillows were old, thin and stained. The towels were also threadbare. The “window” AC unit was old, noisy and dirty. The only toiletries were a couple of bars of generic soap. No hairdryer or in-room coffee. Some beautiful views and convenient parking in front of the room. We try to support independent, local places to stay, but cannot recommend this one
