Understanding and Considerate

Due to a VRBO host cancelling our booking (after we had arrived!) we had to scramble to find last minute accommodation, however there didn't appear to be accommodation left, especially at 5pm the afternoon. We managed to get a booking with Toowong Villas and they were excellent. They were understanding and ensured we got the right accommodation and were attentive to our predicament. This is why I gave them a 5 star rating and would definitely recommend them.

Booked through Wotif. on arrival the Invoiced price was $300 more than the price on the site because of additonal fees for parking etc. Villa was in poor condition for the price, stove did not work, there was rubbish and dog poo in the yard. Plastic outdoor furniture which was cracked and broken and dangerous - one of the chairs collapsed resulting in hitting the concrete floor. Kitchen utensils broken and dirty. Dead cockroaches found in the bed room and bath room. We chose Toowong villas because they were pet friendly and convenient to Nissan Arena for sport. Apart from these attributes , there was no other positives. Over priced and poorly maintained.

Found out on check in that they charge and extra $15 per night for carparking on top off the money already paid for accommodation. In there hotel information folder it states 1 car per apartment and $10 for extra vehicle per night. (We have a photo of this). We only had 1 vehicle. On our 2nd night we couldn't even get a carpark as it was full and yet they still charged us for a carpark. Greedy...

The property looks lovely, got to there, charges extra for parking when we didn’t have a car without checking (removed that), the room had only one air conditioner, the fan clicked, rooms unserviced, toiletries not topped up but you could purchase them, only one roll of toilet paper in the unit, no spare and the glass door was unlockable. Not to mention the barking dogs in the below units from what look to be permanent residents. This property looked great but was very disappointing

The units are in a handy location but extremely overpriced and underwhelming. Not very clean and very dated. Charging $15 per night for parking is a money grabbing exercise, some spots aren't undercover and at times you cannot get one close to your unit. No signs on the office to say when they will be available to make a payment so then was charged a surcharge on my card for parking fee. Overall, the beds were comfortable but we would not stay here again and it was very overpriced.

I liked the space of the 2br apartment but that’s it for the price I paid I expected the place to be clean at least and it wasn’t clean the linen, the dishes, and the cupboards and couches everything had a layer of dust and animal hair disgusting I cleaned everything before we used it and then all the surcharges if you wanted parking or extra towels or late check in/out is ridiculous considering the price of the room I expected more I’ve had more for less at other places ,wont go back there again or recommend it to anyone they allow pets for a surcharge too great for pet owners but the cat and dog hair everywhere was horrible , on top of the construction going on next door the noise was loud, on our second day the water was brown we checked out early thankfully I would look at other properties before committing to this one cause they don’t refund you for anything it’s there policy.

Villa visit

Older style units, in a quiet area of Toowong. Clean rooms with small balcony, fully stocked kitchenette, the only negative is the firm mattress (but that is just a personal choice). On site parking, friendly staff and close to shops and local rail.
