From the outside the property looked a bit tired but on entering we loved the friendly warm welcome. The ambiance in the bar and dining areas was so lovely and the choice of food really great - it was truly appetising! Wonderful stay - we’ll certain stay again if we’re in the area.

Great for staying with dogs

Great dog friendly hotel. Fantastic rooms that lead straight onto the garden area. Perfect with 2 doggies. Rooms are basic but large and clean.

Just a 1 night stay on the way to Cornwall. Great location as the village has lots of little pubs and restaurants too. Staff at the malt were helpful and the rooms are basic but good value for money with breakfast included.

Our stay at the malt shovel was good ,we only spent one night there , food was lovely, the pub was lovely and quiet with friendly staff thst make you feel very welcome , our room was a nice size with tea,coffee ,water, biscuits provided , the bed was comfortable , room was clean with towels left on the bed ,will definitely book again .
